About Dr. Joseph Alencherry
Dr. Alencherry graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Concentration in Applied Economics & Management. He earned his medical degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. He continued his education with a four year Residency at the New York Hospital Queens, where he was appointed Chief Resident in his final year. He has comprehensive training in elective, reconstructive and trauma surgery of the foot and ankle. He also is trained in the most advanced non surgical and minimally invasive treatments of common foot and ankle conditions. He has an interest in treating the complex foot and ankle deformities including Charcot Arthropathy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. In addition, he has completed several advanced courses and has received training in external fixation and deformity correction techniques at the Ilizarov Institute in Russia. He is also involved in research projects. He is a core faculty member of the Department of Orthopedics at New York Presbyterian/Queens Hospital. He is affiliated with Northwell Health System--Northshore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital,and Lenox Hill Hospital and is involved in residency teaching at these hospitals.

Dr. Allencherry has an extensive knowledge of how the foot works and will point you in the right direction when it comes to your foot health. After suffering from a bunion issue his surgery has taken away that worry of "Will I break something if I run or walk too long." This was my first visit with this doctor. The doctor was very nice and explained everything so I could understand. He took X-rays and ultra sound showing me what was going on with my foot,he was very thorough. He set up a treatment plan and I was happy to finally have answers to all my questions and I’m hoping I will be feeling better soon.

I've been to a handful of podiatrists and Dr. Alencherry is by far the best one I've been to so far. He's extremely patient, knowledgable and I saw drastic improvements to my flatfoot caused foot condition. Other doctors just don't compare and kept on trying to sell me on expensive, unnecessary procedures and orthotics, not the case with Dr. Allencherry. He gets the job done. Simple as that.

My visit today To dr. Alencherry was professional And very thorough. He was very knowledgable about my condition .I asked a lot of questions and dr allencherry answered all them. I am a very nervous patient and I let him know that . Throughout the exam(X-rays ., sonogram, he explained in simple terms my condition. I was given a shot in my feet and need a follow up visit in two weeks. I am considering surgery. Unfortunately DR allencherry doesn't take my insurance for the procedure. His partner does so I will be seeing him for my follow up and surgery inquiries. I am hoping to have the same professional experience ! Fingers crossed... Not toes!
