I am a NYS licensed psychologist and I work with a wide range of adults: college students, working professionals, Spanish speakers, individuals with chronic health issues. I earned my doctorate from Fordham University and my master's from the University of Pennsylvania. My specializations include anxiety, trauma, depression, and loss. I also work with men's issues.
I have worked in range of settings, including Montefiore Medical Center and the VA New York Harbor Health System, and am an adjunct professor in Fordham University's Clinical Psychology Program.
I believe in long-term change and that therapy works best when we can make a commitment to the process. I work with individuals to develop greater capacities to tolerate negative emotions and work through difficult life experiences. Rather than seeking quick fixes, I work with individuals to understand the underlying dynamics that contribute to repetitive behaviors, disappointments, and ongoing suffering. I am ready and excited to accompany you through life's most difficult challenges.

This is excellent, I dont think I could make it without Dr. Joseph Giardino. He is so honest and cool. He is always encouraging me, and telling me everything is going to be alright. Sometimes I felt afraid, lonely and when I leave his office I felt relieved. I hope god will bless and keep him in good health. Without him I dont know what I would do. Thank you Dr. Giardino.

Very helpful. Good listener. Dr. Giardino has helped me through a lot of my stress and life problems. It is a long process, but I am slowly starting to learn how to deal with situations and feel better. He accomodates around my schedule all the time and is available to speak with me whenever I need. Highly recommend him. He has great insights.
