Joseph Haddad, AMFT

Joseph Haddad, AMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist
CA
The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner at Sessions Psychotherapy. They hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree from the School of Visual Arts. Feeling hopeless, lost, or overwhelmed? Struggling with anxiety or self-doubt? It's easy to believe that needing help means something is wrong with us-that we should be able to handle everything on our own. But in reality, asking for help is one of the bravest things we can do. There's no single ?right? way to be-whether in intelligence, identity, sexuality, gender, or personality. Instead of feeling stuck in rigid definitions of ourselves, our ability to move, grow, and adapt can be the key to real change when we need it most. I'm not here to ?fix? you or your relationship. Instead, we'll work together to create a more balanced and fulfilling life-one that embraces all parts of yourself and the people you care about, even the aspects that feel hardest to accept. You'll pave the path and walk it, but I'll be there alongside you as a collaborator and confidant. I'm happy to discuss what you're looking for in therapy and answer any questions you have about the process, treatment, or therapy in general.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our life experiences shape how we see ourselves and others. Therapy offers a space to make sense of those experiences and create new patterns rooted in clarity, healing, and growth. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, navigating low self-esteem, or facing relationship challenges, you’re not alone. These struggles can be painful, but they also carry insight—and the potential for change. People come to therapy for many reasons. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity concerns, or burnout. Others seek support around relationships, communication issues, family conflict, codependency, or boundary-setting. I also work with couples navigating conflict, disconnection, infidelity, or major life decisions. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship—first with yourself, then with others. We’ll work to understand the deeper roots of your challenges and the emotional patterns keeping you stuck. I tailor therapy to your needs, drawing from evidence-based practices including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about rediscovering your voice, building resilience, and creating a life that feels more aligned and authentic. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to support you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and lived experience. We’ll begin by creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen and heard. As trust grows, we’ll explore the emotional, relational, or behavioral patterns that are causing distress—whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or burnout. Together, we’ll look at how these challenges show up in your daily life—through negative self-talk, conflict, avoidance, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection. We’ll explore not just what’s happening, but why—gently uncovering the beliefs, protective strategies, and unmet needs behind them. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and strength-based approaches, I integrate evidence-based tools to support insight, emotional regulation, and long-term change. We might explore parts of you that carry shame or fear, identify unhelpful thought patterns, or build practical coping strategies to support your well-being. At the heart of our work is the belief that healing happens through curiosity, compassion, and connection—with yourself and others. We’ll work together to strengthen communication, boundary-setting, self-trust, and emotional resilience, helping you move toward greater clarity, self-acceptance, and meaning in your life.
