**Dr. Josh Handt – Chiropractic Care Focused on Results**
Many patients come to our office with disc problems, sciatica, chronic neck or back pain, postural stress, nervous system stress, or recurring spinal issues that have not improved with short-term or symptom-based care.
At New York Chiropractic Life Center, our goal is to identify and correct the underlying cause of your condition so your body can heal, adapt, and function at a higher level.
Dr. Josh Handt has been in practice since 2006. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and holds a bachelor’s degree from Pace University. Alongside his father, Dr. Jay Handt, he continues a family legacy of care that has served New York City since 1978.
Our office is a **100 Year Lifestyle Certified Practice** and the **first and only Disc Centers of America location in Manhattan**.
Care may include chiropractic adjustments, non-surgical spinal decompression for disc-related conditions, and lifestyle recommendations to support healing and long-term function.
We accept many insurance plans and will help you understand your benefits. However, most insurance plans only cover limited, short-term care. Our recommendations are based on what is clinically necessary, not just what insurance allows.
Our office is a strong fit for patients who want a more complete and personalized approach to care. If you are only looking for a quick, temporary fix, this office may not be the best fit.

My initial visit to this chiropractor was marked by thoroughness, including X-rays for a comprehensive assessment. However, I was surprised by the absence of adjustments during the session. The staff assured me that my insurance would cover adjustments and mentioned discussing a treatment plan post-X-ray review. While the staff was friendly and professional, the uncertainty surrounding the initial treatment approach left me hesitant. Nonetheless, I appreciate their commitment to comprehensive care and hope for clearer communication in future visits. Overall, I recommend them with the caveat of the initial uncertainty.

Dr Josh and his staff were Amazing! Right when I walked in I was greeting by my first name, which makes any first experience a delight. After the normal check in, I had a nice brief tour and right into the exam room. Dr. Josh, came in right away, ready to rock and roll, which only showed his preparedness. Dove right into my symptoms and giving a in-depth explanation of his practice, what he looks for, what and how things work within the body and what he hopes to address as we continue to dive into my exact symptoms. However more importantly, he was open to my concerns and goals. He wanted to make sure we were on a clear path to make these sessions successful. Besides his bedside manners, he made the first visit a smooth and pleasant one. I would recommend him and his practice without a second thought.

Today was my first visit with Dr. Josh Handt. Although I’ve been to many chiropractors in the past, none have been as thorough as he is! He really took his time to listen to my concerns and to figure out exactly what was wrong before determining a plan for treatment. From the first moment I entered the office, the receptionist (I believe her name is Isla?) was very warm and welcoming. Even before receiving any treatment, I feel confident recommending Dr. Handt!

I was in pain and was told that patients are not adjusted in the first visit. Clinic policy. It was Friday and the next available appointment was Wednesday. I managed to get a Tuesday morning. It was the first time that something like that happens to me when seeking chiropractic service. I didn't like it.
