About Dr. Joshua Johnson

I am from Phoenix and spent most of my youth in the greater Phoenix area. I attended the University of Puget Sound for my undergraduate education, where I double majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and German Literature. I studied abroad in Berlin, Germany for 6 months during my tenure at university and spent my free time teaching underprivileged students English when not in classes. I received my M.D. from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in downtown Phoenix, where I took additional classes in public health. I completed internship at the University of California, Riverside, and continued my graduate medical education in Moreno Valley, California before returning home to the Phoenix area. I have practiced medicine as a general medical practitioner for the last 5 years and strive to promote evidence-based medicine in each patient encounter.

Dr. Johnson and his team at Optima Medical are amazing. From check-in to the lab, everyone is efficient, professional, and quick, even when the office is packed. The front desk receptionist was kind. I was a new patient who was running a few minutes behind the scheduled appointment and she checked me in. I was impressed with the technology when answering questions. Dr. Johnson was cordial, explained his approach when meeting new patients, and took the time to answer a few questions and listened to my concerns. What a rare and valuable experience!

I have a lot of problems which makes getting adequate care hard, the doctor and every nurse I spoke with was kind and helped develop a plan that works for me specifically. I would absolutely recommend this doctor and office to anyone struggling with finding a provider who genuinely cares and knows what to do.
