Getting to know Julie Powers

I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of experience in nursing, primarily in the field of oncology. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. This work has deeply shaped my practice, instilling in me a strong sense of empathy, compassion, and respect for each individual’s unique journey. I’ve always been passionate about mental health. I believe it’s time we break the stigma surrounding mental health and create safe, supportive spaces for healing and growth. My goal is to provide thoughtful, patient-centered care that supports both emotional well-being and overall quality of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that I truly listen. I believe the best outcomes come from working with you, not just prescribing for you. Medication management is a collaborative process, and we will take the time to find solutions that fit your symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. I provide ongoing support and adjustments as needed, and I am committed to helping you feel heard, supported, and confident in your care every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive evaluation where I take time to understand your symptoms, history, concerns, and goals. From there, we work together to develop a personalized medication plan. I provide education about treatment options, expected benefits, and possible side effects, and we make adjustments as needed. Follow-up visits focus on monitoring progress, addressing concerns, and refining treatment to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
