Getting to know Justin Maduobi
Justin Maduobi is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He earned his associate degree in nursing from Houston Community College and his Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He further advanced his education by obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, from the University of South Alabama. Justin is also an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
Justin has worked in healthcare as a psychiatric registered nurse for over five years, caring for diverse populations ranging from children to adults. His experience includes inpatient psychiatric hospitals with chemical dependency services as well as outpatient care.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Please do not book an appointment for FMLA if you are not an already existing patient. I DO NOT complete FMLA paperwork for new clients. FMLA paperwork is completed for already established clients. All the initial ADHD consult has to be in-person at the office location in Bellevue. I am a very passionate person when it comes to taking care of my clients. I rely on evidence-based practice in other to provide the best care. My approach to care is understanding the need of the client, setting a professional and therapeutic boundary as well as environment that will foster a healthy outcome. Being able to communicate effectively will help me in providing the best care to my clients.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The initial visit will comprise of getting to know the client, completing a comprehensive assessment that will include current problems, past histories and treatments. Depending on the nature and complexity of the initial visit, I might not prescribe on the initial visit if more time is needed to reconcile medications for a better treatment plan. Follow up visit will be scheduled right after the initial visit to prescribe medications if no prescription was completed on the initial visit. I do provide some talk therapy in addition to medication management.

The best psych I’ve seen so far, and will hopefully be the one I see from now on! Genuinely took the time to understand me and my mannerisms. I’m a very awkward person, forget what I’m saying mid-sentence, and don’t like eye contact, but Justin didn’t make me feel uncomfortable or strange. A person who really understands mental health like he does shouldn’t make you feel othered or guilty. It’s sad I haven’t experienced that until now. Cannot recommend him enough!

Justin, Was extremely professional, focused, intelligent and informative. I was quite nervous and concerned that once again my issues would be ignored. I have been mismanaged for decades. Thus my depression, anxiety, panic and dismissal of the joys in my life have resulted in detachment from every day life. I feel like I want to jump in and be active, but my energy, emotions, worries, and fatigue interfere.
Justin has an interesting method for gaining insight, details and yet never comes across as judgmental. I find this extremely helpful in providing a sense of permission to be honest.
As a healthcare professional myself, I am always worried about the potential consequences to my employment and career.
