Dr. Teshey graduated from Gondar College of Medical Sciences (GCMS) in Ethiopia in 1996 with an MD and later earned an MPH in 2012. He has a rich background in primary care and hospital medicine, including ICU management, which he practiced extensively before moving to the USA. Dr. Teshey is a graduate of the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency program in Virginia and currently practices as a family medicine physician. He enjoys using his unique clinical background and extensive experience to provide critical clinical judgment and care for his patients.

I booked a same day appointment. I asked for an annual exam. While in front of the office building a out 5 mins prior to my appointment I called the main number to ask where should I park, as there was no parking lot of on street parking spaces. I was told to park a block away and pay for parking. While on the phone they said I would probably miss my appointment and need to reschedule. Then they informed me they didn't even have the appropriate staff to complete the physical so I should just reschedule anyway. Then they told me they weren't able to reschedule me because of an appointment I missed over a year ago with a provider at a different location. Time loss, money loss, and faith in this healthcare facility to have any reasonable effort at providing information about parking, or calling before I showed up to the appointment to tell me they were understaffed and unable to fulfill my request. Why take the appointment in the first place?

There were difficulties communicating (including via an outsourced phone service, possibly foreign). There were difficulties entering the building as well, without much instruction prior. One of the office staff was lackadaisical in her measurements and actions at the desk.

It's my first annual visit, and it's a great opportunity to be treated by someone who speaks both Amharic and English. He is understanding and supportive.

It was a good first visit with the doctor. I was impressed that labs could be taken at the visit & we didn't have to go to a secondary lab. That was very convenient. However, the office is located on the lower level of the bldg or you can enter from the street but you'll need to walk around the corner to access the entrance & there's atleast 12 steps to go down. I had my elderly mother w me. It would be nice to put such information on on the door or in the lobby of the bldg, especially for new patients. Other than that, it was a pleasant visit.
