He received his medical degree from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania, with additional training in neurosurgical oncology at Wellington Regional Hospital in New Zealand. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and has published over 100 scientific articles, a book on the treatment of malignant brain tumors, and gives lectures nationally and internationally on brain tumor management.
