Getting to know Kara Reilly
I've worked in the behavioral health field for 12 years as a social worker, substance abuse counselor, nurse, and nurse practitioner. I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology from Ohio State University in 2009, my Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012, and my Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Ohio State University in 2018. I earned my nursing license in 2017 and am certified by the ANCC.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I can help by diagnosing the correct mental health issue that needs treated by looking into current signs and symptoms. We will work as a team to get you on the right medications to help alleviate symptoms of discomfort while creating a treatment plan that we both feel will best support you.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Initial visit will be 60 minutes and we will work together to help get the correct diagnosis and work together to formulate the best plan of care. We will follow-up regularly to monitor symptoms and adjust medications. Follow-up visits will be around 30-minutues. Appointments likely will include psychotherapy.

Kara is great at helping solve problems and listens to what I have to say. She values my health and we worked together to diagnose and create a plan on what we were going to do. She works with tackling the issues that were bothering me the most and we are doing things one step at a time instead of piling a ton of things on. She is very educated and took the time to explain the things I didn’t understand. I strongly encourage people to work with her if they are struggling. She cares about her patients and also is very kind and helpful. She’s also cool when we are communicating back and forth at it feels more casual than most doctors that feel cold and rigid. She’s also fast at getting back to me with questions and helping me navigate the process. I really appreciate her and the job she does.

Kara is such a blessing! She listened intently to evey concern and provided essential feedback. I did not feel rushed or that my concerns were being ignored. My needed treatment was sent expeditiously to the pharmacy. The pharmacy had an issue with one prescription but Kara handled the situation immediately, even with it being a holiday. Kara embodies all qualities that a Healthcare provider should strive for. I felt heard and as I was essential in my treatment plan.
