Dr. Thornton was wonderful. She addressed all of my concerns, she and her staff were very nice.
I thoroughly enjoy my visits to Dr. Thornton's office. She's easy to talk to and very catering to my needs as a patient. She makes suggestions and explains the various options. I highly recommend Dr. Thornton...and I've referred her to friends and colleagues.
If I could give zero stars I would. Save yourself the hassle and choose a different doctor.
At first it was alright. The location is pretty horrid with it being right next to Port Authority. Her staff was very nice and understanding but she was not. Once she when I had a consultation with her about my medicine aderrall, she had to GOOGLE questions that I was asking her on her computer and then a few months later when my birth control got discontinued she just randomly choose another one for me without asking. I had to take the time to look us this medication and come to find out it was absolutely horrible and had a ton of side effects to boot. I had to call the doctors office several times for her to finally call me back. I know its not an easy profession to be a doctor but you are literally getting paid to CARE about people, if you dont like to so that personally thats fine but that is your paying JOB to do so. All the potential is there for a good doctor but there seems to be a chronic lack or care and compassion that will not make this possible.
Short 10 min wait before nurse called me. Entire visit was really quick and Dr Thorthon addressed all my health related needs.
Great bedside manner.
Dr. Thorton and her staff were great and friendly, however the wait time was over 1 hour, which is the reason why I wouldn't strongly recommend this office.
The wait was long but she was great as was her nurse. Very helpful and patient.
They were very nice and professional but I waited for over 45 minutes and was with the doctor for 10 minutes.
I have come to see Dr. Thornton at the 42nd street location three times for varying reasons and I have decided that I am going elsewhere the next time I need a doctor. It has more to do with her nasty receptionist and the incredibly long wait time than anything else. Today I was the first patient in the office and was still seen an hour later. Her receptionist gave me an attitude, as usual, because I asked if my prescription had been sent over to my pharmacy. Absolutely disgusting lady. I'm not going back.
She listened and addressed all my concerns.
Always professional staff but very caring
Dr. Thorton is a good doctor, however, the wait to see her is EXTREMELY long and annoying and her receptionist in the front is nasty and rude. Every single time I want to make sure if my prescription was sent over she gives me an attitude as if I'm bothering them by lingering.
Love Dr. Karen! She makes you feel comfortable and she knows her stuff.
She's great. Easy-going, personable, and very friendly. Listened to my concerns, and answered all my questions. No nonsense and efficient. I was in and out in less than an hour, which was fantastic. The whole staff was lovely and helpful and made me feel at ease.
Other than the wait, the visit with the Doctor was very good. Her team was very professional and she was as well. She asked in depth questions about my issues and made recommendations.
Appreciative of the staff and the Dr. for what they were able to do today.
She was very tentative to my needs and her staff was knowledgeable in terms of my insurance needs and policies.
I feel great talking to Dr. Thornton about anything. She puts me at ease, I'm confident in what she knows, and I appreciate her expedience in treatment. Her office on 42nd street is much nicer than the previous two. I hope this is where they stay for a while. Good experiences with everyone in the office as well.
Always appreciate Dr. Thornton and her care. Wait time this appointment was longer than the usual.
Dr. Thornton is excellent. Couldn't be anymore friendly or understanding. Would definitely go back.
Love Dr. Karen - a perfect combination of gravitas (she knows her stuff) and care (treats you with compassion and humour). Her staff is highly efficient. Most impressed with their paperless check-in and billing systems.
She is very sweet and is straight to the point. Is interested in your needs as well.
Fantastic experience from start to finish! Staff are polite and helpful, and Dr. Thornton is a gem! Very personable, attentive, and went above and beyond to address all my questions. Even met me at the front desk as I was checking out to follow up on the referrals she had given me and told me to call her if they weren't covered by my insurance. Never thought I'd meet another Dr. as great as the one I had in Texas, but Dr. Thornton proved me wrong in the best way possible.
Dr. Karen is personable, efficient, and knowledgeable. Her staff embody the same professionalism and courtesy. I was greeted warmly, given a tablet complete the necessary forms (paperless!) and manage my copay. I was seen within 5 minutes of completing the information. The nurses and assistants took great care to make me feel comfortable and welcomed. All procedures were conducted graciously and with care. Thank you Team Thorton!
Dr Thornton was very sweet and straightforward! I would definitely recommend!
Alway the best professional experience
Very happy width the time spent with the doctor and the help provide. I have seen her several times a year for the past twelve years. I wouldn't be going back if I were not happy with the service.
She was warm and put me at ease with her frank straight talk.
Very friendly staff!! Everyone made me feel very welcome and I was easily able to get referrals.
She was wonderful and worth the wait!
Very Professional and Thorough
Dr.Thorton has a great bedside manner but the staff needs to really work on not accepting appointments for certain time slots if they will have to make patients wait 30-40 minutes past the scheduled appointment time. Excuses like "we're just waiting for a room to open up" isn't a good answer. If you expect to be seen on time I would NOT recommend that you visit this place as you will end up either being late to other meetings/arrangements or having to reschedule them last minute as I have done.
The visit was fairly quick besides the fact once i was in the room it took a little while for the doctor to come in. The staff was really nice and helpful.
Loved her! If you are looking for a Primary Care Dr, look no further! She's the best! Felt comfortable right away with Dr. Karen and her staff. I just can't say enough about her!
I have always been very well cared for by Dr Thornton and her staff. I would not consider going anywhere else.
The front-desk folks are pretty rude, especially when I called in to check on my test results. I called in every day since each time they told me I would have results by the end of the day (I didn't, so I called in to check), but they made it clear that they didn't appreciate my calling. Dr. Thornton is nice enough usually, but was pretty rough during the pap smear so I would not suggest her for that.
Dr Thornton and the entire staff are so friendly, professional and efficient! Also their office is covered in Broadway posters signed by their clients which is amazing.
I had to wait two weeks to get my lab results back. She answered all of my questions and didn't seem to be in too much of a hurry even though she was running late.
She clearly knows her stuff, but the wait is unbearable and everything seems rushed.
I had a terrible experience during and after my visit. Dr. Thronton did not see me for an hour, and when she finally did come to my exam room she lingered in the doorway for 15 minutes discussing her home decor with one of her nurses. She then ordered a series of tests I did not ask for, and never called to give the results of said tests. Multiple calls to her office were left unanswered. Her staff is rude and unresponsive. The office was dirty and unpleasant. There was also a box labeled "specimens" just sitting in the waiting area.
Dr. Thornton and her team were great. I barely had to wait, they were prepared to give my service according to what I stated as the purpose of the visit. They explained everything and made sure I'm feeling comfortable, as well as giving excellent medical treatment.
I came in for a routine check up, but I really appreciated the interest in my overall well being and suggestions for leading a healthier life. Dr. Thornton could have just run the routine tests and filled out the forms, but she took the time to get to know me and put my medical situation in a larger context. Dr. Thornton and her staff are very caring and dedicated professionals.
When I arrived I saw a PA and it was evident that she was prepared and had read my ZocDoc comments to learn the reason for my visit and proceeded with in-depth questions designed to rule out more serious issues. She discussed my responses, her observations with the physician so that when he entered the room he was also prepared. I'm ordinarily annoyed by practitioners that don't look at you or appear to be 'half-listening' and may not know to whom they're speaking. At Dr. Thornton's office you get their full attention, they listen so you have confidence in their findings and recommendations. A real pleasure here!
I'm used to doctors only being able to see me for 15 minutes or so, but Dr. Thornton managed to make that time feel really personal. She talked to me about my medical history in a way that made me feel like she really cared. Additionally, the front desk staff was friendly (I was surprised at how attentive they were while I was filling out my chart). The nurse who took my blood pressure was really friendly and talked to me about some of my issues, too. The overall visit was quick enough to do during my lunch hour—and this included a stop at the pharmacy afterward.
I liked my visit with Dr. Thornton. It felt like i was talking to a friend and I could tell her concern was genuine. I think i am going to make her my permanent PCP.
extremely COMPETENT, felt rushed, and staff looked like they did not want to be there, was a bit unprofessional like.
It was short and quick
Dr. Karen was great. She is super nice and pleasant to be around. The wait was alot longer than I expected. But all in all I had a great visit.
She's great, very caring; her staff is very friendly.
She's great! Straight to the point and very personal.
Great Doctor and great staff. I was taken in right away, Dr. Thornton was very attentive and took her time explaining everything to me. The front desk girls are very helpful!!. I highly recommend this office
I see Dr. Thornton every month to get a prescription refilled, and hse and her staff are always friendly, concerned and professional. Love them.
Dr. Thornton was great. She's personable and funny and attentive and gentle. Highly recommended...she will be my new primary care doctor.
Besides the wait time and the lack of immediate clear directions on how to check in my experience was great. After making contact with someone at the front desk they got me set up with an iPad to check myself in and gather my information while I waited. Doctor Thornton was appropriately cheerful and calm. Her staff is very helpful over the phone as well, working with me to make sure that I get my prescriptions
Dr. Thornton was laid back but comforting and thorough. She spent additional time helping me in looking up pertinent information for vaccines/medications needed for an upcoming trip. I was out in less than an hour.
It was quite a wait, but they were very thorough and I was treated like human and not just like a number. They spent a lot of time getting to know me and my health history. Even though it was a long visit, it was enjoyable.
She was great!
I love Dr. Thornton. Kind, thorough, smart. Could not recommend her highly enough.
Office staff was nice. Did have to wait a while, but the doctor was nice and got right to the point which was good.
She is friendly, professional and helpful.
waited two hours to see her, her assist mangled my arm when taking blood, they were all rude and made me feel embarrassed to be taking up there time.
Dr. Thornton is a great listener and very competent.
Very thorough. I really liked her and will be going back.
Dr, Karen was nice - attentive - She really listened to my concerns regarding my foot/tendon and her suggestions really did improve the healing process.
Overall, great experience!!
I like that the office staff was friendly & professional. I felt the communication of information with my procedures was thorough. overall the doctor was friendly & I had a good experience.
Always found Dr Thornton to be approachable, efficient and knowledgeable. Friendly team.
I found the office to be very professional. Very much appreciate the team, and the Doctor for listening to my concerns, along with being very caring. Thank you to them all.
She was very nice but the billing in this office is horrible. I have 6 different bills for a check up. No thank you.
Great--totally trustworthy with great bedside manner. Really listened and made sure to take time. Her staff was great , as well.
wait time was long but probably because it was after office hours...all associates were pretty nice.
Dr. Thornton was extremely compassionate and very understanding.
Doctor Thornton was easy to talk to and straight to the point! I enjoyed my first visit there.
OK, old office, nothing wrong but will not go back.
Dr. Thorton is an expert and invested in understanding and treating her patients issues. She has such an interesting story to tell as 65% of her patients are Broadway performers/actors. She is a professional and her office staff are all personable. I will certainly make her my primary care doctor here in NYC.
Dr. Thornton is great! Very personable !
Great staff and bedside manner. They took their time and were very friendly.
While Dr. Thornton was pleasant enough, the staff didn't really seem to care and barely noticed that I was there. I felt like I was interrupting something vitally important even when asking basic questions of the staff, even though they seemed to be just sitting around on personal calls. Being right next to the Port Authority, this office is also not the best location.
The wait time was infuriating. Dr. Thornton and her staff are very nice, but it's obvious they don't get along well. Organizationally challenged, I believe simple miscommunication was the reason I waited for over an hour to see the nurse, and then 25 more minutes to see the doctor.
Easy and efficient. No hassle. I was very happy with my visit.
Dr. Thornton was amazing!
Dr. Thornton and her office wer horrible! At my first appointment, I was seen on time but was left in the room alone for 45 minutes before she came in to apologize and said that the nurse should have told me that I was done and that I could leave. I only returned for a follow up appointment because she was apologetic and promised that it wouldn't happen again. My second appointment was at 1pm and was her first appointment of the day. I arrived on time and was told that Dr. Thornton was running a little late and would be in soon. The nurse took my copay then brought me into the room to take my vitals, then left. the nurse periodically came in to assure me that the Dr Thornton would be in at any minute. This time I waited over an hour before getting dressed and going to the nurse at the front to demand my copay back. I would NEVER go back there again, and wouldn't recommend that you do either. Very unprofessional, and on another note not the brightest doctor I've met over the years.
Dr. Thornton and her team are great. Very kind, respectful and genuinely care about their patients, but when I came in for a regular physical, the team had an incredibly hard time drawing my blood, to the point where I almost fainted on the table. Both the nurse and Dr. Thornton were trying various things to fill two tubes of blood. I know I have small veins, so it can be challenging but I've never experienced an issue like this before in the past. I've gotten my blood drawn at least once a year for the past 10 years and I'm not afraid of needles. I think if the team followed more rigid procedure, the process would have been incredibly efficient and accurate. Firstly, blood was drawn while I was laying down on the exam table, rather than sitting in a phlebotomy workstation. The nurse also had trouble finding my veins, and never asked me to squeeze a ball. It took multiple times in both arms to get it right. They ended up having to draw blood from a vein in my hand. The team also did not use a syringe, so my blood was flowing incredibly slow into the tubes. What should have taken 1 minute ended up taking over 15 minutes, making me incredibly faint to the point where I almost blacked out. This was not a great experience for what was suppose to be a yearly regular physical. I like the team personally, but the quality of care needs to improve for me to want to come back.
The best doctors office in town!!!! Truly nice staff.
the worst office visit ever I had in my life, I had to repeat my self 4 times before I saw the doctor: 1- with the front desk 2- the nurse who was shaking when he was taking my blood pressure 3- with NP that she was in the office for training and doesn t have knowledge about what she was doing , she was asking me a stupid question ( how many men did I have a relationship with beside my husband) I swear 4- the doctor spend 5 min with me in room without helping me. Really I was mad because I was in her office for 2 hours and 30 min and been with her for 5 min. I forget regarding my visit they were writing my medical information on peace of paper , she did my blood work without asking me what I need to be check. asking me if I had babe before because she said that my face with brown spot looks like those Mexican who has dozen of kids, and didn t like her talking about Mexican people like that (they are human), really my office visit went from 10 to 0 . the 10 was from making appointment on zocdoc easy and quick and 0 from the service that I had in her office.
I really liked Karen Thornton -- that being said the office was chaotic, loud and unprofessional, including the support staff.
Dr. Thornton was very personable and friendly. It did not feel like my first appointment with her, I immediately had a rapport with her as if she had been my doctor for years. The nurses are all very kind though the office is quite small. However I would still highly recommend.
Every one of the staff was nice and friendly! Would definitely go again
Dr. Thornton was incredibly helpful and spent additional time answering my questions and ensuring I was comfortable. I will definitely be going back.
Their office's schedule is not integrated with ZocDoc, so the appointment I booked was not actually available. Kind of defeats the purpose of being on here if people have to call to reschedule appointments as soon as they book them.
Great doctor! Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a quick trip and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
She was patient and very knowledgeable. Something in our conversation led her to suspect I may have had H. pylori (something I had never heard of before) and she told me she wanted to run a test which was great because her suspicion was correct. She makes one feel comfortable and at ease very quickly.
Fabulous. Great bedside manner. Very thorough and caring. Very highly recommend Doc Thornton. Strong support staff as well. Very convenient location.
It was great! Dr. Thornton and her staff made me feel very comfortable. I'm very happy to have found them.
Dr. Thornton is super cool and incredibly professional! The sign in process for new patients is easy and quick. Her staff is personal and friendly. I'm definitely making her my primary doctor!
I was charged a huge copay for a sick visit because I asked one question about my personal health. It was scheduled and also billed as an annual check up exam.
She was kind, concerned, empathetic and thorough.
the entire experience was excellent. Her staff is great. I haven't had insurance in years and they helped me figure out how to negoitate the system and we very clear about what would be covered and what not. Dr. Thornton gave me plenty of time, made me feel as if I'd been her patient for years and is extremely knowledgeable. it was very easy to speak to her about all my health concerns. I actually, can't wait to go back for my follow up appointment - Yes, she asked for a follow up to discuss my physical exam test results!
My visit was great! The office staff is nice , personable and funny! Dr. Thornton makes me feel really comfortable and answers all of my questions and concerns with no problem. I have made them my primary care doctor.
Dr. Thorton was so kind and caring. She never made me feel uncomfortable, and I felt that I could be really honest with her. I plan on making her my new Physician.
Great listener. Would highly recommend.
She is a fantastic provider!
I found Dr. Thornton to be personable, caring and most importantly thorough. She also takes time to advise as to how patients may achieve optimum wellness through conversation and emailed newsletters. Both are extremely important to me.
Just awful...everyone, including those working at reception, nursing assistants, and Dr. Thornton herself.
Very personable and actually tries to understand the patient.
I've been a patient with this doctor for about 6 months out of laziness of not having to deal with switching doctors, but enough is enough. - First time I went to Dr. Thornton it took almost 45 minutes just to see me. - It took Dr. Thornton's office almost a week for them to get around to my prior authorization. I only got it after many calls from myself AND the pharmacy to get them to do this. - A staff member got upset with me that I asked for a referral the same day I had a specialists appointment and even gave the referral receptionist a hard time on the phone. I explained to her that it was a last minute appointment due to an urgent issue, but the receptionist didn't care. I was told this was the last time they would do a same day referral. - Proof that she only cares about her patients money... the prescription that I get on a monthly basis requires that I bring in a hard, physical copy of the prescription each month. It can't be called in, so if I want to pick up the prescription from her she requires that I book an appointment and pay her copay every month. Unfortunately, it is doctors like Dr. Thornton that make insurance and healthcare so costly for people and not affordable for many others.
Great staff; professional and courteous. She was very through and caring. I will come back and make her my primary care physician.
Dr. Thornton's offices where just about as third world as you can get in a first world country. Later, when my health insurance made a mistake, her office charged my credit card for WITHOUT TELLING ME THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO IT. Although I found Dr. Thornton herself rather pleasant by the time she actually got to me, I have decided to leave her practice because the idea that I would be charged without my consent for my health insurance's mistake is simply appalling to me.
I was absolutely thrilled with my visit. Very personable and helped me with getting a PT prescription. Happy to make her my new primary care physician!
very weird. unorganized. I felt very uneasy
The staff was so helpful, the paperwork was all done electronically, and I was in with the Dr. within 15 minutes. Fastest Dr.'s Appointment I have had, Dr. Thornton was knowledgeable, easy to talk to and very helpful!
The office has moved and is extremely disorganized. It was messy and there seemed to be multiple practices being run out of it. I waited for an hour before being seen as well.
Had a lovely personality and was very attentive to my concerns. Didn't write me off or seem distant like other doctors I have seen in the past. I absolutely will recommend her to others and will continue to see her.
While the wait can be long sometimes, Dr. Thornton is thorough, thoughtful and treats you like an adult. I would HIGHLY recommend her.
Waited for over an hour to see the doctor, who was obviously not being attentive to her patients, chatting with the staff. When I finally said something to the receptionist about the long wait at 2:45, she said, "Well, your appointment was at 1:45," like I was crazy. When I finally did see the doctor, she prescribed medication that so far has not helped my condition. The doctor's office was also really disheveled and cluttered. I would not recommend this doctor.
Dr. Karen Thonton is a spectacular Doctor especially for those in the performing arts! I highly reccomended her and her staff!
I thought Dr. Thornton was quick and warm through her examination, I will definitely go back to her.
She was great. Down to earth, intelligent, and real. I plan to use her as my PCP.
Careful and caring. Professional and warm and thorough and friendly. Would recommend with no reservations.
She saw me in good time even though it was near the end of the work day, listened well, gave me solid advice, and got me help right away. The practice is well-organized and technologically up-to-date, and the staff is friendly and approachable.
The visit could have been more of a welcoming experience. I felt like I wasn't wanted as a patient.
Excellent visit...my first PCP in over 5 years, and I was a bit nervous. But Dr. Thornton was terrific. I'll be keeping her as my Doc!
I went in for an annual physical with a few additional questions about a few things that have come up over the last few months. She took the time to listen and answer my questions thoroughly. The nurse who took my vitals and blood (Argie, I think his name was?) was also fantastic at his job and very personable as well.
Dr. Thornton is matter-of-fact, friendly, and sympathetic while still being professional. It was a positive experience, despite the fact that I really dread going to doctors in general.
Nice Dr. Didn't make any recommendations for extra work. However I did have bloodwork done and they told me I needed to make an appointment to get the results. That means another co payment and I think that's a little strange. Maybe all Drs are like this and I just don't realize it. My original appointment was rescheduled for earlier. However I ended up waiting an hour to be seen. But it is hard to find a dr you are comfortable with so I will probably still go back. Just know they will keep you waiting.
I thought it was great, only thing I was concerned about the medical receptionist informed me of the incorrect insurance information. Other than that the doctor was good.
My visit with Dr. Thorton was very pleasant and thorough. Her staff was quick and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the IPAD check in. Dr. Thorton had a great bed-side manner and was very detailed. I highly recommend Dr. Thorton.
I got to Dr. Karen's office about 15 min before my appointment, and it took me about 20 min to fill out all necessary paperwork. Once done, I was seen right away -first by a nurse who took my vitals and blood samples then by Dr. Karen. The visit was quick, the staff very friendly, and the office cozy and comfortable. Dr. Karen was very personable and encouraged me to air any concerns I had about my health. She was patient, took my concerns seriously, and gave me all necessary referrals to put my mind at ease. I highly recommend her!
The best. So cool and a great doctor - and her nurse Argie is the best!!
She was very rude to her co-workers. I felt very uncomfortable.
It was a great visit and I look forward to having her as my primary doctor.
The wait was sort of ridiculous, considering I was one of two patients in the office. But once I finally saw Dr. Thornton, she really listened, asked questions, and offered solutions. I'll probably go back-- and hopefully get a shorter wait time!
Very personable and great bedside manner. I would definitely recommend her to all.
She was eager to answer any questions I had. She also went through all my medical history to get to know me better and to understand how she could help.
Good physician who listens and makes sure to address any of your question / concern. Smooth visit. Very professional staff.
Dr. Thornton has become my primary care physician because I can always get in to see her within a day or two. Lately it has been goofy stuff like a required physical and an update to my tetanus shot, but she is great about looking at the whole picture instead of just whatever ailment/issue I have.
It was great! The whole staff was friendly. The check-in is electronic, which was very quick and to the point. As soon as I came in I did the electronic check in, then I was seen right away for weigh-in/blood drawing. Then Dr. Thornton was in with me. It was great!
Wait time in the office only took a few minutes because I was a new patient and filled out the background info.
I had to wait an hour and half but the the staff apologized and the doctor was nice and she apologized too. Hopefully I will not have to wait this long at my next appointment. The office is a bit messy and pretty outdated so if you're looking for a modern state-of-the-art kind of office, this one is not for you. But overall, good experience and I like Dr. Thorton.
It was good. It felt a little rushed but I was also late so she probably had other things to do.
I liked her a lot
I moved to NYC 1 1/2 years ago and was really dreading finding a PCP. SO happy I found a great one on my first try! I've seen Dr. Thornton a few times and each time she has been extremely pleasant, she listens to me, and she does all she can to help. She's also great about fitting you in last minute if you get really sick. I would highly recommend!
Warm and friendly staff! Didn't need to wait at all and felt very comfortable speaking with Dr. Thorton. I'll definitely be back!
I love Dr. Thornton. I recommend her to all of my friends who now recommend her to their friends! She is always warm and listens to every problem you are having even if they aren't physical. She is great about making recommendations to other doctors for more specialized follow-up. I'm only sad she doesn't take my new insurance.
After waiting extensively, my visit with Dr. Thornton left me feeling somewhat uncomfortable at the incredulity with which she responded to me answering her questions. Having been unhappy with my last gynocolegist and hoping for more there, I am left still searching.
Very friendly & great staff!
It was my first visit and even though it was a bit of a wait to be seen, it was great. The staff was very nice and informative. Dr. Thornton made me feel very comfortable.
She's fabulous and personable!
Dr. Thornton was amazing and definitely worth seeing!
She is amazing! Funny, down to earth, sensitive and very knowledgeable of her field and current trends/health reports. Thumbs up!
Dr. Thornton is my regular DR and there's a reason I keep going back. She is very thorough and listens well, but doesn't waste time. I definitely recommend her!
Very nice and listens carefully.
The wait time was kind of long. Would have liked to be in and out.
I think she's kind, warm, insightful, and very professional. I'd recommend her to anyone.
Very pleasant bedside manner, her office is fun and contemporary, not serious and clinical. Thumbs up!
I was a little skeptical about to see a new doctor but when she came into the room I felt a good relieve , she as very nice, she took her time with me that's what matters in a Doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Thornton.
Doctor was very friendly and professional. Appointment definitely took longer than I was expecting, however. I arrived at 3.30pm, and spent about half an hour filling out the "new patient" form on a touchscreen. I then waited another 15 minutes before I saw someone (who I assume was one of the other doctors there) who took my blood pressure and such. He took me into another room where I waited for about half an hour before Dr Thornton arrived. I saw her for 5 minutes or so, then she sent me out to the waiting room while she wrote my scripts. So all in all, it took well over an hour and a half to see the doctor for a minor ailment. I would therefore definitely recommend that you arrive early if you are a new patient at this surgery. That being said, the nurse did mention that there were quite a few new patients that day, and it was right before Christmas, so perhaps this is not a normal wait time for this surgery!
The doctor was had a great bedside manner. I actually recommended her to my co-worker upon my return to work.
I thought Dr. Thorton was very professional but at the same time empathetic to my needs and symptoms.
my appointment I made here was not recorded in office schedule so I had to wait for the next opening
She is so friendly and always helpful.
My visit with Karen Thornton was extremely pleasant. She was welcoming, friendly, insightful and very attentive.
I had to wait a bit because I was a new patient and had to fill out a lot of paperwork, but it was all done electronically, which was really cool and made that process less painful. As an actor, I like the idea of a doctor who caters to and understands that community. Everyone in the office is so nice and there's Broadway posters all over the place, so I was the happiest.
LOVE HER EVERY TIME! This Dr. has changed my life around, I am a much better, healthier, and happier person because of her!
I thought she was great! Very personable and took the time to get to know me.
I love Dr. THornton, she always asks what show I am in, or what has been up or about my partner whom she has never met. She smiles, laughs and jokes in what can be some uncomfortable medical situations to lighten the mood or your worries. You give her a smile and a laugh and she will give you ten back!
I LOVE DR. THORNTON!!!
This was my second time seeing her and the experience was great! I saw her for my annual physical and I felt like she took the time to see me and answer my questions, which is often hard to come by. My only complaint would have to be the long wait in her office. If she could cut the wait time down, I'd give her a perfect rating :)
She seems like a great doctor! I liked that she really took her time with me, even though I was only seeing her for a cold. She was very nice, and you can tell she truly loves her job.
She was lovely and made me feel very at ease! I would go back!
Quick and friendly from start to finish. This was my first visit and all paperwork was done digitally on an easy to use touch pad. Karen and her staff were all very approachable and made small talk, were able and willing to answer all my questions. By far my best experience at a doctor's office, even though I will say I haven't been to many.. I'm used to going to public clinics.
I really enjoy Dr. Thornton. ALthought it can take a while to see her, there are always appointments available and when she does see you, the experience is great. Dr.Thornton also sent me two studies in the mail for a chronic conditin I have. I was really impressed that her office did this, above and beyond my regular appointments. I highly recommend her!
Dr. was friendly once she finally slowed down to focus on me and my needs. There was a pharm sales rep trying to sell her something right outside my door which I could hear for about 3 minutes while I sat and waited in the room, this added to my wait time to see the Dr., about 25 minutes before I got started. Her nurse was very nice but at times it was awkward. My appointment ended with blood work that hopefully is timely. Left the patient room and headed to the front desk and stood there for a good 1 or two min with no greeting or conversation from the lady at the desk, whom was not doing much of anything, to let me know that I was all set. I finally spoke up and asked if I was done. "Yes just wait for your results, will call you." Overall satisfactory, but I will give this Dr. a go one more time because she seems nice and efficient.
She was overall wonderful.
Nice doctor but it took almost an hour for someone to see me
I initially made the appointment through random selection based on who took my insurance. Based on all the physicians i have seen in the past, i only half expected her to be half decent, but she was AWESOME! I definitely recommend her as she has the coolest personality of all the docs I have met so far in the city. Friendly staff too. The wait was a bit annoying, buts expected with 99% of doc offices anywhere.
I waited 30 minutes to be seen by the doctor. During that time she was standing in front of me, doing paperwork, trying to make photo copies and yelling at her staff about mundane things (why are you using that phone when you have this one? why didn't you fax that? why are you doing this that way? etc). I was embarrassed for her and felt bad for her staff who were very nice. The actual appointment was ok - very quick, not much checking in about medical background. No opportunity to bring up any other concerns. All in all not a very "customer oriented" experience.
Dr. Thornton's manner was friendly and casual and talked to me more like a peer than as a patient to a doctor. I went as a new patient for my annual pap smear but was surprised that she didn't take a detailed sexual history, or ask me about my sexual activity at all. The gynecological exam was really quick and painless - less than 45 seconds - which I suppose is good, but I wonder how thorough it was.
I think Dr. Thornton and her staff are wonderful. They are all extremely polite and efficient. Dr. Thornton is great and easy to talk to as well as very understanding.
She was a sweetheart! Made me feel comfortable instantly!
Quick easy appointment, very professional, great bedside manner.
