Dr Karin Machnau is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her expertise includes medical dermatology with an emphasis on cosmetic dermatology as well as laser technology. She was born in Canada and graduated medical school form the University of Alberta, completing her residency at the University of Arizona. She practiced with Arizona Advanced Dermatology for 14 years renowned for its laser technology and procedures prior to join us. She has received extensive training in advanced cosmetic dermatology, with faculty from UCLA, University of British Columbia and other thought leaders in this field from NYC to Beverly Hills. As past Vice President of the Phoenix Dermatology Society she has been featured as a medical expert on local television programs, has presented at prestigious medical conferences and has received Phoenix Magazines ” Top Doc” award. She enjoys travel, cycling, yoga, cooking and is involved in several dog sports with her german shepherd, Hucky.

I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early with all my paperwork ready. It was a 9am appointment. I’ve been waiting 45 minutes so far and haven’t even made it to the exam room
Frustrating they are almost an hour behind at 9am. Front desk told me “we are really busy first thing in the morning “?

I felt like I was being rushed during my appointment . I understand the Dr. probably has a lot more interesting and difficult cases to deal with, but I wasn’t even offered additional information or asked if I had additional questions. However, it is a beautiful and clean office and her assistant (I do not recall her name) was very friendly and caring.

My overall experience was a positive one. The doctor was clear and concise and very efficient. She was up to date on current treatments and made me feel a lot more comfortable talking about different skin concerns.
She also seemed to understand that some concerns were more cosmetic and confidence related than anything. She also didn't make me feel like a hypochondriac as I asked about a variety of things that concerned me with my skin.

Best dermatologist appointment I have ever had! I was seen in five minutes, they didn't make a hassle about anything, took care of insurance no problem. The doctors assistant Kat was amazing! Dr. Machnau came in withing a few minutes! She addressed all my issues and got everything fixed in a jiffy! I love them!

I cannot speak highly enough about every part of this visit! The office was clean- staff friendly- wait time low.. Dr Machnau was thorough- knowledgeable- professional and friendly. She had a great bedside manner and way of explaining everything that she did. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone!
