About Dr. Katherine Hamming
Dr. Hamming is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. She has expertise in all areas of Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat. She treats problems involving tonsils and adenoids, ear infections, hearing loss and chronic ear disease, airway problems including the larynx and trachea, and pediatric sinusitis. She has special training and interest in cleft lip and palate and infants with airway problems.
Dr. Hamming earned her Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children's Hospital Colorado.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hamming has a teaching appointment as an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center. She won multiple teaching awards throughout her training and enjoys continuing to educate the community as well as future surgeons. She has presented at national meetings and published literature related to voice problems in children with cleft palate and aspiration in neonates, and she has done research on topical treatments for sinus disease.

Dr. Hamming was awesome! I was able to schedule online. She was very patient with my six year old and explained everything in a way we could understand. They were able to do a hearing test in office without a separate appointment. He staff was courteous and professional. I will definitely recommend Dr. Hamming to family and friends!

The appointment was quick and the dr is very gentle and pleasing. She cleaned wax from my daughter's ears.
However, the receptionist seemed to be somewhat cold and aloof, and NOT customer friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day , she had no smile and speech was dry.

She was really good. I went to have my baby's ear cleaned, and she did it fast. The only complaint I have is that the person she called to help keep my baby's head still, did not use any hand sanitizer or gloves before putting her hands around my baby's face.
However, the doctor was good.

The doctor was nice and caring. However, the office messed up with my appointment and kept us waiting for more than an hour. The doctor has to run between rooms to get us treated. Bad administration and coordination.

I would highly recommend Dr.Hamming to anyone. She's just so carrying and nice and patient and wonderful. She is highly recommended and respected by other experienced Dr's as well. My baby had 2 laryngomalacia surgeries with her, at 10 days old and at 2mos old - both very successful and now she can breathe and eat on her own. We are so pleased with Dr.Hamming. Don't hesitate to ask her questions!
