Kate believes that food should be enjoyed and nutrition is an integral part of our physical and emotional well-being. Healthy eating does not require extreme diets, expensive low-calorie products or denying your favorite foods. Kate’s role is to help you, or your child, create a positive relationship with real, wholesome food – through education, meal planning and behavioral changes that fit your lifestyle. Combining a foundation in evidence-based, medical nutrition therapy with a holistic, individualized approach to her practice, Kate aims to help clients develop realistic, achievable goals to overcome their barriers to nutrition success. Whether you’re looking to develop a better relationship with food and body, help with a picky eater, or to better manage symptoms of a medical condition through diet – Kate can help. Medical nutrition therapy has proven to an effective, non-drug approach to managing a variety of medical conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, renal disease and gastrointestinal disorders. Kate holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science from Boston University and completed her Dietetic Internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, MA. In addition to her private practice, Kate has experience working at Walden Behavioral Care’s eating disorder and psychiatric treatment center, Boston Medical Center’s Endocrinology, Diabetes and Weight Management Clinic and at Franciscan Hospital for Children on the medical and adolescent psychiatric inpatient units, and as the RD in the pediatric outpatient clinic.
