I thought the staff was incredibly polite (especially Justin). The young man who helped me choose frames was delightful. Dr. Hoang was very professional and explained things thoroughly.

It was nice to have a Dr take their time to provide the services in a caring, knowledgable way rather than rushing you out in 15 minutes. She took her time to do the exam thoroughly and explained the process and results as we went along. I would definitely recommend her.

Dr. Kathy Hoang was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She grew up in southeast Houston and thereafter has lived in downtown Houston, the medical center, the Heights, and now resides in a home in Katy. Dr. Hoang graduated early from high school and started college as a sophomore as a result of taking college courses early in her high school career. She completed her undergraduate studies as well as completed her doctorate degree program all at the University of Houston. Dr. Hoang appreciates the diversity in Houston as well as all it has to offer, which is why she plans to stay here for a very long time. For her externship sites within the last year before graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Hoang was fortunate to be trained at BridgeBuilders, a clinic that provides eye care to low-income individuals within the city of Dallas and that specializes in medical eye care. She also has been trained under ophthalmologists to manage pre and post operative care for surgeries such as cataract surgery and LASIK surgery. With her experience in providing medical care, Dr. Hoang finds it a responsibility and a passion to build a trusting doctor-patient relationship in order to manage a patient's vision and ocular health throughout the course of his/her life, with the same regards to his/her family and other loved ones. Dr. Hoang has learned to not take one's sight for granted, and finds every opportunity to emphasize the importance of promoting and maintaining eye health so that patients are well educated and informed on their set of eyes. In her free time, Dr. Hoang is usually with her husband, also an optometrist, as well as with their dog, Darci.
