About Dr. Nishi Mehdiratta
Dr. Nishi Mehdiratta is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. She subsequently obtained her doctorate in optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her time at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, she developed extensive knowledge in the diagnosis and management of anterior segment ocular diseases, where she developed a particular interest in the treatment of the various forms of dry eye syndrome.
Dr. Nishi focuses on holistic patient care and an emphasis on the marriage of dry eye syndrome and the concurrent aesthetic benefits these treatments provide. Her particular areas of interest in ocular surface disease management include post-LASIK-induced dry eye, peri-or postmenopausal dry eye, and dry eye induced by medications such as chemotherapy. At Luxe Eye Care, Dr. Nishi provides a customized dry eye treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
Dr. Nishi is currently a Key Opinion Leader for Lumenis, a global leader in the field of energy based-medical solutions, where she helps to educate fellow physicians on the diagnosis and management of ocular surface disease. They are super attentive to your needs. It was my first time scheduling an exam and I came in as a walk-in. The front desk was very knowledgeable and Walked me through the whole process. Eye exam Was very quick and easy, doctor explained my results and I was in and out within 30 minutes. Highly recommend!

The best eye doctor EVER! I was thoroughly impressed with the time it took for her to listen to my eye sight issues which, to me, seemed to be complex. Not only did she help me find an immediate, temp. fix, she provided me with a treatment plan to be sure that my eyesight issues are resolved! The attention, care, and education that the doctor Provided are the best I've ever had!

Wow! From beginning to end, the experience at the new location was superb. Dr. Nishi's office is very spacious, new technology /equipment and she has an excellent staff that streamlines everything. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and efficient. Dr. Nishi is so personable, and Communicates well on all that the exam provides. Parking is abundant and convenient. I highly recommend Luxe Eye Care. Couldn't be more pleased.

Met with Dr. Nishi this morning for an eye exam and an updated eyeglass prescription. Highly impressed with her concern for patient care. She specializes in dry eye and immediatley recognized my plight, especially as a prior contact lense wearer. Their front office is calm and professional, as well as staff for the initial testing performed prior to the exam. Extremely
well mannered, which is hard to find, believe it or not. Will be returning for more in depth dry eye testing in a week with Dr. Nishi.

Dr. Mehdiratta is the best. I've been coming here for a few years for my eyeglasses and contact lense care, although I have a retinal specialist through whom I can also access these services because she's just such a pleasure to work with and she makes me feel heard. She makes time for all patient concerns and always has my best intrests in mind with any recommendations she makes. I only see her once a year but look forward to my appointment everytime!

I've been seeing Dr. Nishi for years. She and her entire office staff are friendly and professional. And I must say, I love their new location! Parking is so much easier and they have so many eyeglasses to choose from. I trust them so much that I brought my senior mom in. Dr. Nishi was able to properly diagnose why my mom had difficulties with her eyesight. I love supporting local & women owned buisiness!- plus the advice and guidance you receive is notches above nationwide chains. Highly recommend Dr. Nishi and her team!!

DR. Nishi is an outstanding optometrist! She is extremely kind, knowledgeable, personable. Dr. Nishi always listens to any questions / concerns I have. She is very patient during the exam, she recommends the best treatments for my dry eye, and prescribes the most comfortable, up-to-date contact lenses. My family and I truly look forward to our eye appts every year. Thank you Dr. Nishi for being the absolute BEST in eye care!!
