Kayane Hanna-Hindy, MD born and raised in Bay Ridge Brooklyn,an NYU graduate who completed her fellowship and training at the State University of New York. She had been an assistant clinical professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and now has affiliations with Maimonides Medical Center. Her comprehensive training allowed her to develop excellent skills in basic endoscopic procedures needed for the diagnosis and management of colorectal cancer screening, peptic ulcer disease and inflammatory Bowel disease. Her special interests are geared toward’s Women’s Health. She also has expertise in the management of liver, pancreatic and biliary disease. Dr. Hanna-Hindy is a published researcher and authored over 20 abstracts and papers. She is the newest addition to an international show called “ New York Doctors “ that airs globally, in which she provides her expertise to patients worldwide. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and continues to be actively involved in the community providing free seminars on colorectal screening, GERD etc

I chose this office because of all of the positive ZocDoc reviews -- therefore, I feel it's important to share my negative experience.
The front desk and nursing staff were arguing with each other in front of myself and other patients. They vented to me about how busy they were. They misapplied a test for me and when following up with me because of the improperly administered test, emails were haphazard and riddled with grammar and punctuation issues.
I visited this practice months ago and never received the results of the recommended bloodwork that was conducted on-site, despite trying to follow up several times. I have been severely disappointed with the quality of contact. I believe that the practice is mismanaged and would not recommend.

I decided to go to Dr. Hanna Hindy because I saw that she had such great reviews. As a medical provider, she was always very kind and seems like she is good at what she does. However, I will not be returning because as a medical professional myself, I am not satisfied with how they run the place.
-I had an endoscopy done, and was told to come in for the results. However I was very ill that day, and also wouldn't have another chance to go in so I called and asked if I could speak to the doctor for my results. I was told I could not talk to her and that I have to come in. This is all just a money making scheme, but I had no time or energy to argue, and was concerned about my results. I am a Physician Assistant myself, and I know for a fact that if results are normal you can surely tell people over the phone. Even when they are abnormal and I have to have a patient follow-up, I call and tell them over the phone. I dragged myself in, and my results were completely normal. This could have easily been taken care of over the phone. This was all a ploy to bill my insurance and now I'm stuck with hundreds of dollars in bills for my outpatient visits. They make you come over and over again for things they should be telling you over the phone. I won't be giving this place my business again. I work too hard for my money for these crooked tactics to be draining my bank account.
-It is too hard to talk to Dr. Hanna Hindy, you always have to go through her front desk staff who just aren't competent enough to determine who should be able to speak to the doctor when.
-I had my referrals faxed multiple times, and kept hearing from the employee at the front desk (in the Bay Ridge Location) that they never got it. Turns out the machine wasn't even on, and that's why it never came through, it caused me so much trouble during my first visit.

I've been putting off seeing a doctor for my condition for sooo long that I was nervous coming in. After meeting Dr. Hanna-Hindy, though, I wish I'd done it sooner. She's everything you want in your doctor; she answered all of my questions, made sure to inform me of what to expect of the procedure, and was just an absolute ray of sunshine that put me at ease.
