Love the doctor, super knowledgeable and helpful. There's usually about 30 minutes from when you walk in the door until you actually see the doctor since there's the waiting room, an assistant, a doctor in training, and then the Akizuki.
He was accurate and truthful. We did have to wait but his assistant came in to pre diagnose. He gave us his attention 100%. He was personable. He focused on both my son and me.
He knows what he does...a true maestro in his field!
First visit. I liked the staff. Did not like the hour-plus wait.
Great doctor, answered all the questions I had and thoroughly explained what he thought was happening with my shoulder. Physical therapy seems to be fixing the issue without anything else needed.
Dr. Akizuki is wonderful, very knowledgeable and thorough. Highly recommend him and his office.
This was a first visit, so I can't say anything about treatment or outcomes yet. What I can say is that I was greeted by welcoming and professional front office staff, then seen by a warm, knowledgeable, and informative RN evaluator, followed by Dr. Akizuki, who was equally warm, caring and impressive in his evaluation and diagnosis of the problem, his recommendation for followup evaluation, and his conservative approach to treatment if the test results warrant. Just beginning this relationship, but so far very pleased with everything except the 35 minutes spent in the waiting room after arriving on time for the appointment.
He and staff very thorough. Walked me through every scenario. Will definately go back to have any upcoming procedures. Great bedside manner too!
This Doctor is best in class. Takes time to explain the condition and always provides options for treatment. Also just a genuinely great guy.
First class consultation and the next steps for treatment and recovery were very comprehensive! So far, excellent experience!
A real professional outfit, even the assistants were precise, clear in communicating, and well educated on the subject matter. Discussed cutting edge additions pro and con. I felt I got my questions answered thoroughly. Even though it's further to go, I'm choosing this surgeon to do my rotator cuff.
Seemed good and nurse is great. Was first visit . Expected wait because he is big shot
He is the best doctor hands down no question about it!
Very impressed with this office and the staff. I was taken back right away and seen within minutes of getting assigned a room. Everyone was detailed, efficient, and professional. I left with a plan and felt heard and valued as a customer. So glad I found this doctor.
Thoughtful, thorough, and caring. I have confidence that he can help me with my chronic tennis elbow.
Love this team!
Excellent care. O
Our consultation with Dr. Akizuki was wonderful. Even though he had to give us disappointing news (our teenage son needs Tommy John) he was very positive. He is very personable and We feel completely comfortable having him perform the surgery.
Great!
I were very impressed with his ability to pinpoint my problem and outline a therapy program to help me.
The doctor helped me in the past with two operations that greatly relieved my pain in my shoulder and knee; this was seven years ago, and it was time for me to see him again. He clearly gave me the alternative ways we could proceed and allowed me to select the manner that seemed best. He was very perceptive to note that a cortisone shot might be a good idea, and he was right on target. We will proceed in a conservative treatment plan until we could better evaluate my condition. His suggestion of a physical therapist in my area was most appreciated. His staff, from the receptionist to his nurse assistant, were uniformly kind and professional. (I wish they were able to validate the parking cost, but these things happen.)
While my 5 minute interaction with Ken Akizuki was pleasant and he seemed knowledgeable, the way his office operates can only be described as incompetent. When I arrived, no one was at the reception. A harried woman in a white jacket arrived and told me the computers were down. She had me wait to 10 minutes. I informed her that I was a new patient and might need to fill out some paperwork. She gave me intake forms and I filled them out. I then waited approximately 45 minutes and was then seen by Cliff, who said he was Akizuki's assistant. Cliff then asked me questions that I already answered in the paperwork I filled out, and took notes on my responses (except that his were less detailed than what I had already filled out). Then a woman came in, who said she was another assistant of Akizuki's and took more notes about the ankle issue I had come in for. By the time Akizuki came in, it was almost an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment time. He spent five minutes with me and said I needed an MRI and a night ankle stretcher. I then had an MRI taken but found it very difficult to get the results back from Akizuki. Despite repeated calls and messages to Akizuki's assistant (which is the only way to reach him), they would not release my MRI results to me. I had to go back to the place where I had the MRI and get the results myself. Only approximately two weeks later did I get a message from another Akizuki assistant who told me the results and what to do. While Akizuki may be a competent doctor, his staff and office setup is horrible.
Dr. Akizuki is one of the best doctor's in California. Ask him to show you his SF Giants World Series ring. He is on the medical staff of the Giants. Highly recommended.
My initial visit with him went great. Not too much waiting, and seemed to be a very competent doctor. Looking forward to continuing working with him in the future to get my knee fixed!
