Dr. Lipsitt matriculated at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Wayne State University and received a B.A. degree with a major in History with Distinction. He was also simultaneously elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and received his four year medical degree.
After spending the next one year as a Rotating Intern, Dr. Lipsitt furthered his medical training spending the next four years as an EyeMD ophthalmology resident studying general ophthalmology at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals located in Boston, Massachusetts and at the same time took additional ophthalmology educational training at Harvard University.
Dr. Lipsitt then furthered his medical training spending the next four years as an EyeMD ophthalmology resident at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals located in Boston, Massachusetts and at the same time took additional ophthalmology educational training at Harvard University. He then spent additional years of training taking two vitreoretinal fellowships at both Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, Emory University School of Medicine, and another one at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC. There he received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the retina, macula and vitreous. Dr. Lipsitt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Recently, Dr. Lipsitt took further extensive educational training in the field of Low Vision and now also specializes in EyeMD Low Vision Rehabilitation.
