Dr. Kenneth Sharp, DO

Family Physician
1638 Blakeslee Blvd, Lehighton, PA
My philosophy has been rather simple ? engage in a healthy lifestyle, take as few medications as possible, and don't be afraid to ask questions. I enjoy providing guidance to my patients based on evidence-based practices to help them make informed decisions. One of the things I enjoy in family medicine is the spectrum of care. I love treating kids and have taken care of newborns who are now finishing high school and going on to explore their potential. As a hospice team physician, I have helped others with end-of-life decisions and care, keeping them as comfortable as possible while providing support to their families. I am not sure that I can accurately answer that question. How does a carpenter and a musician become a doctor? I suppose it was some kind of evolutionary process. The thought of helping people and taking care of people is somewhat of a calling more than a decision. I think there are many doctors who have a hard time explaining it. I don't think that I chose the field of medicine; I think it chose me. Prior to being a physician, I was a musician-which still lives within me. I continue to play guitar and flute and enjoy making music in my home studio. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rowan University and completed my undergraduate studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. My postgraduate training includes an internship at Memorial Hospital, York, and a residency in Family Practice at WellSpan York Hospital.
