In my final year of medical school, I did an elective GI rotation with a GI physician in West Houston. This was one of my most enjoyable months during medical school, in part due to the subject matter but also the way this doctor treated me and his patients. My positive perception of GI physicians continued in residency when I found the GI physicians to be an approachable, practical and fun group of people. These are the reasons I opted to pursue a career in GI medicine. My special interests include management of all facets of gastroenterology with additional expertise in liver disease and therapeutic endoscopy (EUS, ERCP). I previously worked as a transplant hepatologist in Houston before redirecting my career to focus on hepatobiliary disease. I have additional post fellowship specialty training in both of these fields. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also try to maintain some level of personal fitness and follow professional & college sports.
