About Dr. Alfredo Espinoza
Dr. Espinoza treats patients who need general gastrointestinal care, including colon cancer screening and end-stage liver disease. He is passionate about defeating colon cancer. Dr. Espinoza received his medical degree from the University of Texas, San Antonio, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the same institution. He is trained in general endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, as well as advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.
Dr. Espinoza is bilingual. He and his wife Lori keep busy raising their sons, Diego, Joaquin, and Javier, in Boerne. When time permits, he enjoys traveling, reading, listening to music, and National Public Radio. Dr. Espinoza is a proud sponsor of Texas Public Radio’s 180 Group.

Dr. Espinoza spent time listened to my father's concerns during his appointment. Together they were able to develop a plan of care. Dr. Espinoza makes every attempt to Follow up with my father and to keep us informed of any results. As, well, the office staff is very professional and goes the extra mile to help his patients. There is one staff member in particular that went above and beyond trying to help my father, her name is Violet. She made many calls to other facilities trying to find medication samples that my father desperately needed. For that, we are very grateful.

The new location is great. Lots of light and more open space. Also, there seems to be more exam rooms. The staff was very friendly and professional. The doctor is bilingual [English-Spanish] and communicated directly with the patient, my father, making it easier for him to understand the instructions. As a bonus, their new location now has the capability to draw blood for testing, saving us a trip to a lab. My father was very pleased of how this visit turned out.
