About Dr. James Jackson
Dr. Jackson joined Gastroenterology Consultants in 2007 after completing his postgraduate training and a faculty appointment at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Davidson College, his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas, San Antonio, completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and pursued a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Emory University. His academic interests have led to publications in prestigious journals such as the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, and The American Journal of Medical Sciences. His interests include general gastroenterology and hepatology, including therapeutic endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and ERCP, and he has extensive training in the management of inflammatory bowel diseases, Crohn's Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis. He currently serves as the Chief of Gastroenterology at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital. He is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Carolyn, and three young children.

After being a patient of Dr. Jackson for almost 8 years, I'm still pleased with his service and the service of the entire staff. He is very caring and goes beyond what is expected to make you as his patient is taken care of and assures you have no others questions prior to finishing he visit. Only downfall is the wait time to get an appointment, it's between 4-6 months typically.

As always, Dr. Jackson LISTENS, answers and THROUGHLY explains everything. You do not feel as if you are being pushed out of the office because of time commitment, i.e., another patient waiting, etc. There are doctors who make you feel like you are a supermarket product, i.e.., "next please," and that definitely is not Dr. Jackson's style. He is extremely caring and very committed to your well being.
