Dr. Franklin served in the United States Air Force for 26 years before joining San Antonio Gastroenterology Associates in 2010. During his distinguished military career, he served in many notable positions to include Gastroenterology Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General, Chief of Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Program Director for the Gastroenterology Military Fellowship Program in San Antonio.
Dr Franklin received his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda Maryland. After completing his Internal Medicine Residency at Wright Patterson Medical Center in Dayton OH he did his Gastroenterology Fellowship training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond Virginia. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is an active member in the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. His areas of interest include anorectal disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and colorectal cancer.
He and his wife Dr Pamela Gill Franklin have one child and are active members at Oak Hills Community Church. In his spare time Dr. Franklin enjoys golf and traveling.
