Kristen has worked in psychiatric nursing for seven years and graduated with their advanced practice nursing degree from the University of South Alabama. They use a trauma-informed approach to mental health that includes both medication management and psychotherapy.
Kristen employs a Health at Every Size philosophy that prioritizes whole-person wellness above a weight-centric perspective. In their practice, the client is at the helm of choosing what issues to work on. A holistic approach is favored over cookie-cutter or one-size-fits-all formulas. Kristen’s practice focuses on depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorders, and trauma.
They strive to understand the person in their present state and identify the root cause of distress in their life. Kristen believes that everyone in the healing profession should undergo their own journey of self-exploration to better understand the people they’re treating.
As most people today are touched by mental health struggles, whether it be their own or their loved ones, we can use those experiences to learn to ground spiritually and mentally. Kristen is here to help facilitate that process of healing, and we are looking forward to having them on our team.
