What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness, each session is tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient, providing a comprehensive and compassionate approach to mental health. Here’s what you can expect during a typical session: Initial Evaluation (First Session) The first session typically lasts about 60 minutes and involves a thorough evaluation of your mental health, medical history, and current concerns. During this session: Diagnostic Process: I will ask you detailed questions about your symptoms, medical history, psychiatric history, and social background (family, work, relationships, etc.). This helps me understand the root causes of your condition and create a comprehensive treatment plan. Review of Current Medications: If you're currently on medications, I will review them to determine their effectiveness, potential side effects, and whether any adjustments need to be made. Discussion of Treatment Options: Together, we will discuss different treatment options, including medication management, lifestyle adjustments, and the possibility of therapy. Holistic Approach: As I practice integrative psychiatry, I may explore non-medication options like nutritional adjustments, supplements, or mindfulness techniques to complement the treatment plan. Follow-Up Sessions Follow-up appointments typically last around 30 minutes and focus on: Progress Review: We will assess how well your treatment plan is working. This includes checking in on any medications prescribed, as well as reviewing any changes in symptoms or side effects. Collaboration The process is collaborative, meaning that your input is essential in shaping your treatment. Your comfort and understanding are my top priorities, and together we will develop a treatment plan that works best for you.
