Dr. Kristopher Avant, a graduate of Yukon High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Avant completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at SSM Health Bone & Joint Hospital at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City. He continued his training with a Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida, and further specialized with a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at Tampa General Hospital. While in Tampa, Dr. Avant had the opportunity to work extensively at the Shriners Hospital for Children.
In addition to practicing a comprehensive range of general orthopedics, including trauma, joint replacement, and sports medicine, Dr. Avant specializes in Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, and Microvascular Surgery.
