His clinical interests include trauma, sports medicine, ligament and tendon pathology, bunions, flat foot, cavus foot, ankle deformity, arthritic conditions, limb salvage, and Charcot reconstruction. He is currently involved in a research project with Kaiser Permanente that focuses on different bone-grafting techniques that increase the fusion rate in foot and ankle arthrodesis. Dr. Bertram received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He joined MedStar Health for a residency in podiatric surgery and then completed a specialty fellowship with Kaiser Permanente in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
