The doctor's office was very nice and accommodating, although it took a little bit of time to get over the communication barrier.

Very efficient office and Dr. Lee was very sweet. The office lost power while I was there, but the staff was very apologetic.

Waste of time. Avoid this doctor if you don't want to catch a disease walking into an office the sanitation department should close down. Barely speaks english - wish I trusted the reviews before me.

The receptionist was confused and disorganized. The doctor was 15 minutes late to the practice (arrived at 9:45am when my appointment was 9:30am- no apologies whatsoever). I had scheduled my appointment for a run-of-the-mill STD screening, so I was extremely surprised when the doctor told me that he did not do these tests because he was not a "women's doctor". They should have notified me that this was not something they could do when I made the appointment. I have never been to a general practitioner that does not do standard STD screens. His office was DIRTY and in disarray. I promptly left. I highly suggest you avoid this doctor!

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with a recent visit to Dr. Kyo Lee in Oakland. Though I had filled out forms on ZocDoc, I had to fill them out again in person at the office.
Then recently, I received a bill for my general checkup visit. After confirming with my insurance company that the claim was incorrectly filed, I now have to return to Dr. Lee's office to fix their mistake!

I normally don't write these and I didn't really want to be so negative but waited for at least an hour, waiting room and exam room seemed dirty and not well kept, check in process disorganized-the girls didn't even know that I had an appointment, also didn't mention until afterwards that they don't take my insurance. I have had many throat cultures before and haven't had one as painful as here! Also he said the test would take 5 days for the results!? It has only taken a few minutes at my old doctors office. Dr Lee wasn't too bad just didn't seem very personable or helpful.

It was horrible; he was so disorganized; he didn't know what he was doing. They advertised that they did x-rays and they didn't even have the program, I found this out at the last minute, even though I told the lady at the front desk that I was there for x-rays. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. In the end, he just said come visit me in a month and if it doesn't get better we'll do x-rays. I want to know how he's gonna do x-rays when he said he didn't have them. This place gets a thumbs down. I should have taken the other reviews to hearthe that way I wouldn't have had this terrible experience. Please take this review to heart.

He would not fill a prescription for me because he said he wasnt authorized to, even thoigh i had the scripts with me. I had the distinct impression he simply wouldn't because it was a controlled substance and he thought i was a drug addict. He did not ask me any questions or take the time to learn my story. I would nit recommend

Dr. Lee brushed off what I've been dealing with for the last year and a half by asking a handful of value questions. In about 5 minutes he determined my problem wasn't a problem and told me to come back in 3 months if I still felt the same way.

This is my first review I've ever written and this is only because the service was so exceptionally terrible. This was by far the worst doctor visit I've ever had and worst service I've ever seen. First I waited for forty minutes, that's fine. Upon entry he said he would do a blood and urine exam. He asked me to get the urine cup from the receptionist. When I asked her for the cup she said she needed to charge me again way more than my copay, even though I already paid my copay while I was waiting. When I refused because I had never heard of such a policy before, she got on the phone and started talking about me and how to receive the money in Korean in front of my face because she thought I wasn't Korean, I am Korean and understood everything she said.
The blood draw left me bruised for three weeks and my arm was sore for four weeks. The office did not even send me my results. I called for a month and a half leaving messages and talking to the receptionists asking them for my results. They kept saying they would call me back and never did. Finally today when I got a hold of the original receptionist that I had met, I asked her for my results and she said she would call back in half an hour and never did. I called her back later in the day and then she said she'll get them right away and then she hung up on me. I had to call back again. They emailed me my results which were just two pages of printed out lab notes, nothing comprehensible for a patient. I called asking them to explain it because I've never had any doctor in my life just print out a lab sheet and send it, and finally the doctor got on the phone and said about a sentence to me. I asked him if this was how his office operated and he said it wasn't his fault the lab only got him the results today. I told him that was because I asked her to call them and get them because I had been waiting a month and a half and he replied with a simple "yeah". No one apologized for anything. Overall, the whole thing was disgusting and I would never ever recommend anyone to see Dr. Kyo Lee or his rude receptionist Jennifer Yi.

Dr. Lee is friendly and seems qualified. But, it is clear that English is not his first language. It was necessary to repeat myself multiple times in order to be understood.
The presence of large manilla folders for patient files, as well as the fact that it seemed clear that Dr. Lee did not refer to or take advantage any of the information that I provided through ZocDoc, make it clear to me that this office needs to fully enter the digital age.

It was greater than what I expected. The front desk was extremely personable and very helpful. Dr. Lee was straight forward in his communication which is what I look for in a health care physician!

I am new to the area so I was looking for a primary care and get back on my birth control, and this doctor visit experience is the worst in my life.
1. The receptionist asked me what my copay is. I don't think I've ever been asked this question when I visit any doctor (aren't you supposed to have the plan's information?)
2. Doctor picking up personal calls during the appointment for 5 mins. I don't think this is ever acceptable.
3. When I asked for a specific birth control brand (Aviane, literally so popular), he looked up three "physical" medicine catalogs for 15 minutes and didn't respond when I asked him what was going on. Finally he could not find the one I wanted and prescribed me another one. He wrote me (yes, on paper) a prescription sheet.
I will never go back to this doctor again.

I went to Dr. Lee for a re-fill of a prescription I have been taking for a few years. My past doctors would set me up with a year supply on the prescription. Dr. Lee, however, only gave me a 3 month supply. He said I would have to visit him again if I wanted any re-fills. I thought my request for at least one re-fill (i.e. a 6 month supply) was reasonable, but Dr. Lee would not accommodate.
January 25, 2014Thomas B.Verified patient
It felt very impersonal. Dr. Lee spent most of the appointment writing things on his pad and barely even looked at me. Further, the office did not do a good job of explaining what I needed to do to get follow up lab tests done (which they recommended).
