In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The primary care provider's role should encompass the needs of the individual on a holistic basis. Caring for someone's emotional and behavioral needs is just as important as their physical health, as each can affect the other. The primary care provider should act as an advocate for their patient, caring for them in both the physical and behavioral aspects of medicine. What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I have been in healthcare for over 13 years, and every patient interaction has been rewarding in some way. Taking it to the next level and providing primary care has been fulfilling because I know my patients are well cared for and trust me with their life and health. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I very much enjoy traveling, though the pandemic has certainly hindered that. I like to be outdoors, enjoying activities such as bike riding and running—although not very fast. I participated in my first half marathon two years ago and look forward to getting back into the racing world next year. I also enjoy visiting friends who live in various parts of the country.
