First time I showed up, I was told it was under a different person despite deliberately scheduling with who I wanted even after catching ZocDoc trying to schedule with a different person, ended up rescheduling despite driving an hour to location. Arrived for appointment again two weeks later, putting that first hiccup behind me, but found the session difficult to handle when she opened the conversation with the comment (twice) that my issues were "a lot". I'm sure it wasn't intended negatively, but it made me feel ashamed and anxious. At the end, she told me to stay in the room while she scanned a few papers I brought to try using to help me express my struggles since I didn't trust myself to do well verbally, only to be then left in the room for over an hour alone, no updates at all, then find out from the front desk staff they assumed I already left because my appointment ended some time ago. I so badly wanted this to work out and give me some direction, but I left feeling neglected.
I scheduled this appointment specifically to see Dr. Slaughter, but the experience felt misleading and unprofessional. Before the visit, the nurse asked if I was okay with Dr. Slaughter bringing in a student—I clearly said no. Instead, a different provider, Addison Zaya (not a psychiatrist), came in without explaining her role or informing me that Dr. Slaughter would not be present. She began asking very personal questions, and I initially assumed Dr. Slaughter would join, but that never happened. I did not consent to being seen by someone else, especially without transparency about their credentials. When I raised concerns, she dismissed them and claimed the nurse never mentioned a name, which my husband confirmed was untrue. As someone in my third trimester, I left feeling misled, disrespected, and emotionally distressed. I would not recommend this practice.
