About Dr. Lauren N Daugherty
Dr. Lauren N. Daugherty grew up in Snellville, GA. She attended college at Emory University where she majored in Psychology, minored in Music, and graduated as a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society. She stayed at Emory for medical school, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Following her Transitional Year internship at Gwinnett Medical Center, Dr. Daugherty returned to Emory for her Dermatology residency, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. In residency, Dr. Daugherty trained in pediatric and adult medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, laser procedures, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Daugherty has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in esteemed journals such as JAMA Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, and Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), amongst others. She has presented at national dermatological conferences, including the Society of Investigative Dermatology. Dr. Daugherty is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Daugherty’s professional interests include management of pediatric and adult medical dermatologic conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and autoimmune blistering diseases, as well as skin cancer screening, anti-aging medicine, and surgery, including cyst and skin cancer removal.
Dr. Daugherty enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Greyson, and son, Asa. Her hobbies include baking, running, yoga, and cross stitching. She is also learning how to play the banjo.

I thought Dr. Daugherty was very nice and that it was a good appointment overall. She took the time to listen to my questions and was very knowledgeable. One thing that I think could have been better was communication during the exam. It was my first time getting a skin screening, and there were a couple of times that I felt thrown off and would have been more comfortable if she’d communicated more about what she was about to do before doing it. For example, she didn’t give me any warning before lifting and examining my breasts. I absolutely understand that it was something she had to do for the exam, but I would have been much more comfortable if she’d let me know (and even more so if she’d checked in to make sure I was ok with her doing that) before actually touching me. I think it’s a good habit to keep in mind especially for patients who might have experienced trauma, as well. That being said, she was very kind and reassuring while addressing my skin concerns.

She was very friendly, clear speaker and seemed knowledgeable about what she was saying. I went for a simple eczema check up and she told me worse case scenario is that I had scabies. That immediately gave me so much anxiety and I ended up going back for a skin scrape. She basically gave me unneeded concern and I didn’t need it.

Dr. Daugherty was very personable, prompt, and knowledgeable. They got me in on time, clearly communicated what they were doing, and made me feel very comfortable in answering all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend this doctor and will be returning!
