Philosophy Of Care As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Lauren Uroda wants her patients to know that she is passionate about her specialty’s core values and is dedicated to treating her patients like family. Dr. Uroda believes in living life to its fullest and wants to help her patients flourish by providing optimal medical care and developing a strong patient-physician relationship. Background Dr. Uroda was born and raised in Detroit and is very proud of her native roots. She completed both her medical schooling and training in Detroit, at Wayne State University. Starting at a young age, Dr. Uroda had a passion for helping others. Since the age of ten, Dr. Uroda has been volunteering at churches and homeless shelters, which helped foster a desire to make an impact in her community through altruism. This passion was further developed during her travels to impoverished countries such as Haiti and Nicaragua where she participated in medical mission work. Through these experiences, it ingrained a deep appreciation for culture and diversity and it became evident that regardless of race, age, gender or socioeconomic status, everyone deserves a high level of quality medical care. It is Dr. Uroda’s personal goal to leave patients empowered and knowledgeable about their health and believes this is best accomplished through the promotion of preventative care, a healthy diet, routine exercise, and positive lifestyle choices. When Dr. Uroda is not seeing patients, she enjoys mommyhood as well as spending time with family. Some of her hobbies include culinary arts, traveling, visiting art galleries, and staying active through yoga and bike riding.
