Lee M. Mandel, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.R.S., is the director of the South Florida Sinus and Allergy Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida and completed his internship in General Surgery as well as his residency in Otolaryngology at The Mount Sinai Hospital. They asked me to arrive 1/2 hour before my appointment, which I did. Unfortunately there was no one there to receive me. Once someone did arrive they looked at me cross wondering why I was there early. After checking in I was waiting to be seen. After 45 minutes of waiting I find out the person who I was seeing was not even there and the eyes couldn’t tell me how much additional wait time it would be. Terrible experience and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this practice.

To Whom It May Concern,
I recently attempted to schedule an appointment at your office and was disappointed with the experience. I was informed that I would need to see a physician assistant (PA) for my first visit and would not be able to see the physician until a follow-up appointment. I was also told that I would be required to pay a specialist co-pay for the initial visit, even though I would not be seeing the specialist directly.
I explained that I have a recent CT scan report relevant to my condition and asked if it could be forwarded to the physician to determine whether it warranted being seen directly by them. I was told this was not an option and that I must first be seen by the PA.
As someone on a fixed income, 2 visits are a lot — before seeing the physician seems excessive, especially when relevant diagnostic information is already available and could potentially streamline care.

I will not go back to this place. I went to talk about a laser procedure that they advertised. I saw a PA who kept me waiting in the office for like 40 minutes. Then told me she was prescribing me 4 meds she did not tell me what they were. She said someone will be in to check you out with the instructions. Another 30 minutes goes by and no one comes in I had to go out and ask them what's up. A girl came in who was very nasty and asked me if the pa seen me yet. Come on! I left and the PA called me and told me they forgot to check me out. The girl blamed the PA the PA blamed the girl. I will never go back terrible experience

I’m writing to provide feedback on my recent visit to the Sinus and Allergy Center on 10/15/24.
I scheduled my appointment through Zocdoc and received a confirmation for 1:30 pm. However, upon arriving at the Doctor's office, the receptionist informed me that my appointment was actually at 1:00 pm. I showed her the confirmation, but she insisted that Zocdoc does not interface with their scheduling system and maintained that my appointment was at 1:00 pm.
While I understand scheduling errors can happen, I was disappointed by the manner in which the situation was handled. The receptionist’s response was both rude and condescending, which added to my frustration.
I believe this situation could have been managed more professionally, and I hope that steps can be taken by this provider to improve communication and customer service moving forward.
