I went into Dr. Backhus office nervous and worried as this is my first pregnancy and she made me feel at ease. She is patient and answered all my questions. Also, she explained the whole process I'll be going through with my pregnancy. My overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend her.

Dr. Backhus was absolutely wonderful! She made me feel extremely comfortable and was very kind and informative. She made sure to go through my chart in detail and always told me what she was doing/why/etc. I will definitely be going back to see her again! My wait time was a little long, but I hate to judge a doctor's office based on that because one late appointment in the morning can create a snowball effect.

I've been searching for an OB-GYN since I've moved to Chicago. Having been to a few doctors prior to Dr. Backhus, I'm happy to say I've found my new doctor! Dr. Backhus takes time to fully explain everything she is doing and why. She made me feel extremely comfortable from the moment she entered the room. Also, the office is able to handle lab work which is super convenient. I would definitely recommend Dr. Backhus for anyone looking for a new OB-GYN.

Really enjoyed Dr. Backhus--very professional, actually listens and explains, answers questions without talking down to you, thorough but not overbearing or brusque. Was less impressed by reception staff though-they lacked her people skills and seemed disorganized at best. Once I got past them, however, the Dr herself was great.

Dr. Backhus is absolutely wonderful. She has excellent bedside manner, very knowledgeable, great communication, and clearly cares about you as a patient. She takes her time to talk with you and does not rush. By far one of the most informative and overall best doctor appointments I have had in a long time.

Dr. Backhus was fantastic. Very friendly but very efficient. Listened to me and made me feel very comfortable. Already referred her to others. Wait time was a bit long because I was trying to go on my lunch break so maybe I will try a morning appointment next time.

I am new to the area, and have been to three appointments where the doctor never showed up. This doctor showed up and even talked about my wait time (30+ minutes) being unnecessary. She's thorough, made me feel comfortable, has excellent bedside manner...and SHE SHOWED UP!

She was very thorough and was very helpful in quickly understanding an issue I've been to several doctors for in the past (and received no answers). Wait time in the office was very long, but in the end, worth it. Dr. Backhus was great.

Dr. Backhus was extremely professional, understanding, and helpful. She was very patient and addressed all of my concerns and questions. Completely put me at ease about the visit. The procedure itself was thorough but super quick and painless. And since I don't have health insurance, she went out of her way to get me info on a clinic that offers sliding scale fees just so I could have the option available to me in the future if costs become a prohibitive factor or concern. I highly recommend her.
