About Dr. Leo Smith

Dr. Smith grew up in Oregon, and has a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University in secondary science education. He worked for 15 years in environmental and industrial chemistry prior to attending medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University. Although he never applied his bachelor's degree to teaching in the schools, he still enjoys the process of educating his patients on their medical conditions, and appropriate treatments options so they can be knowledgeable participants in their own health care. He chose family medicine because of its focus on people of all ages, and enjoys being able to see patients from multiple generations within a family. When he's not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two grown children. He also enjoys outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, gardening, bicycling, snowboarding), and is excited to be living in an area with so many options for outdoor activities.
