This is a great doctor, he is extremely knowledgeable, nice and professional with a personal touch. He does not rush through your appointment to get to the next patient. The flip side is you have to wait until he's done with the previous guy. But this is a time well spent: at the end you get the best service. Get ready to wait long, take a book or something with you, but don't complain: you cannot have it both ways. I personally choose the doctor that is caring, explains everything and answers all your questions vs doctor that has exactly 15 minutes for you. If you really care about your health this is the doctor for you.
The staff in the office is kind, friendly and also will go an extra mile so that you get what you need.

Words can’t express how wonderful Dr. Bernstein and staff were!! Dr. Bernstein took the time to explain and show me my MRIs results something other doctors didn’t do. STAY AWAY, DR. Bernstein was the worst doctor I have EVER been to. Came here to have an orthopedist check out my spine and treat me for sciatica. He is a HUGE proponent of injections and suggested them even before looking at the MRI results. He has NO regard for the emotional well being of his patients, dismissed me saying there is nothing to be done here that my spine is in horrible shape and I need to quit my job because I will never be able to return to work" WHO SAYS THIS? After the MRI results, I returned so he can read the results which he did not, literally said my spine is so bad there is nothing to be done........ Never have I experienced such bad treatment by a medical professional, please do yourself and save your time and money.

Dr. Bernstein is a wonderful doctor. He really took the time to listen to me and address all my concerns. The only downside is the office wait. I waited just about two hours before I was seen regardless of my appointment time but I guess that is the price you pay when you have a doctor who really doesn't limit you to a time clock and isn't rushing out the door once you are in the room. His office is also very outdated. Other than that very sweet and knowledgeable man.

Dr. Bernstein is patient, knowledgeable, and very thorough in his examination, explanations, and guidance on treatment outcomes. I am most fortunate to have consulted with him for a second opinion, and was able to avoid needless surgery recommended by the Hospital for Special surgery, not to mention needless CT/MRI imaging prescribed by HSS.
I would highly recommend Dr. Bernstein to anyone with orthopedic injuries (urgent/post-care) and is looking for a no-nonsense, experienced professional, who advocates for your best interests, and isn't immediately inclined to surgery as an option.
Be prepared for potentially long waits - Dr. Bernstein is patient, attentive, and gives every patient the time and attention they need and deserve, and cannot be rushed.
