“Very easy and straightforward process as a new patient. My insurance was verified prior to sending intake forms, which was very convenient. As soon as they were submitted back to the office, I paid my copay and was ready for my visit the next day. The Dr was very professional. Explained a little about himself and his background. That was very comforting as he is a local and familiar with my hometown. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and very empathetic at the same time. After 4 or 5 psychiatrists, I have found a good one.”

Leor Matalon is a compassionate, warm, and attentive psychiatrist assisting patients in Vista and Encinitas, CA. Dr. Matalon is a member of the Physician’s ,Advisory Council and the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Matalon, originally from Chicago, attended the University of Illinois at Chicago to receive his medical education. He then completed his Master’s degree in Pharmacology and Nutrition from the University of Southern California. Dr. Matalon participated in two residency programs: Psychiatry at the University of California’s San Diego Medical Center, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Matalon specializes in both Adult and Child Psychiatry. With children and adolescents, he specializes in treating ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, aggression, mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, and abuse victims. With his adult patients, Dr. Matalon treats all of the above, and he takes a particular interest in treatment-resistant depression and bipolar spectrum disorders, as well as specializing in adult ADHD treatment. His goal as a mental healthcare provider is to provide a thoughtful, caring, and collaborative atmosphere that allows his patient to be at his or her best.
