Dr. Seecoomar began his medical education at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine internship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he also completed his internal medicine residency. In 1996, Dr. Seecoomar completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center, and in 1998, he completed his liver disease fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Seecoomar provides colon cancer screenings, treats acid reflux and heartburn, assists patients experiencing blood in stool and Crohn’s disease, treats diverticulitis and ulcerative colitis.

Truly disappointed in experiences with this doctor. Had to see and get tests with another gastro after seeing him. Uses testing methods not recommended by others, I wasted much time while in poor health with him. Not straightforward about pricing for procedures either. Billing came as big surprise. Overwhelmingly disappointed.

The receptionist was very friendly and made several calls on my behalf regarding mnedication that could be covered by my insurance. I was terrified to have a colonoscopy after the anesthesia administered during a prior colonoscopy with another doctor left me ill. Dr. Seecoomar discussed the issue with me at length, and even returned two phone calls between the first appointment and the actual procedure to discuss the matter further. He didn't turn me over to an office manager/assistant. Instead, he took the time to personally address and respond to my concerns. The result was a problem-free colonoscopy. I couldn't recommend him more highly.
