Getting to know Lisa Rullie

Hi, I’m Lisa Rullie, MA, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who cares for individuals across the lifespan. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and collaborative—I take the time to truly understand your story so you feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout your care. I provide mostly medication management (please note this) I work with a broad range of mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, life transitions, and stress. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I trained extensively in psychology and counseling, which deeply informs my style and helps me bring a thoughtful, whole-person perspective to treatment. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northeastern University, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University. I began my career as a clinician in an outpatient substance use treatment setting, then returned to Northeastern to complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later my Master of Science in Nursing. In addition to clinical practice, I’ve served as a clinical instructor at Northeastern University since 2017—work I value and genuinely enjoy. If you’re looking for a provider who listens closely, collaborates with you, and offers steady, evidence-based support, I’d be honored to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

There is no pressure to know exactly what to say or have everything sorted out. I’ll start from wherever you are and help you move forward with clarity. My clients often note that I listen carefully, explain options in a straightforward way, and create plans that feel achievable day to day. My approach is comprehensive and thoughtful. I look beyond symptoms—taking into account your environment, health, relationships, stressors, and strengths—to design treatment that aligns with your life rather than adds to it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First visit: We’ll take time to understand what’s been going on, what you’re experiencing day-to-day, what you’ve tried in the past, and what you want to improve. We’ll identify your goals together and outline a treatment plan that feels aligned and practical. Ongoing care: We’ll track progress, adjust the plan as needed, and focus on steady, meaningful improvement—not quick fixes. If medication is part of your care, I use an evidence-based, thoughtful approach and I’ll walk you through your options, benefits, and side effects in clear, straightforward language. I also incorporate practical strategies you can use between visits to support real-life change.
