I thought Dr. Tuffanelli was great. I was there for an annual mole check. She did a thorough look, took pictures of moles to watch and took a closer look at those I asked about.
Dr. Tuffannelli saw some precancerous spots and was able to burn them off right away. I'll return in 3 months so she can on them. She is a great doctor. I recommend her highly.
I felt like I was a bother by being there: rushed out quickly and made to feel like my concerns with my skin were superfluous and silly. I would not recommend Lucia.
Dr. Lucia Tuffanelli was pleasant and efficient. I arrived early and my appointment happened on time. I was in and out in about 45 minutes total.
very superficial visit. lasted less than 10 minutes. very rushed.
Not thorough, not friendly, the office was not clean, I felt very gross after leaving.
Dr. Lucia Tuffanelli was very efficient. She answerd all my questions in a professional manner.
Very uncomfortable visit, overall. Just didn't feel like she wanted me there in the slightest. Overall she was fine, but it just wasn't a welcoming visit.
Dr. Tuffanelli is knowledgeable and helpful. I am currently being treated for a facial condition and she has recommended a course of treatment that is manageable for my lifestyle.
A lovely, caring and skilful dermatologist-highly recommended! Thanks
Loved her! She's prompt, to the point and professional. Exactly what I like in my .Doctors Highly recommend her
This was my first time seeing Dr. Tuffanelli. I was in for an annual skin check up and was in and out in less then 20 minutes. The nurse took me to the exam room within minutes of walking through the door and I was one on one with the doctor a few minutes after that. The exam itself was quick and to the point. While fast, the exam was thorough and I left feeling confident that my skin is in good shape.
This was the second time I have turned to Dr. Tuffanelli for care of dermatology problems. The first was ten years ago when I lived in San Francisco. I now live in Reno, Nevada, but chose to return to her rather than find a new doctor in Reno because Dr. Tuffanelli is so very professional, competent and personable. I can highly recommend her to anyone. It is well worth the trips to San Francisco to have her as my doctor.
I have never left feedback but Dr Tuffanelli's visit was worth it. She was the right amount of mad at me for being in the sun, caring about my back story and thorough with the check up. Will 1,000% be going back.
Dr. Tufdanelli was very courteous and professional. I experienced great care at my visit yesterday.
An excellent physician. Highly recommend!
Dr. Tuffanelli is very nice and knowledgeable. Her office seems to be busy. The appointments have been really quick (in and out) but she knows about what she prescribes and is willing to help her patients.
My visit was only a few minutes, and doctor was clearly interested in getting to rest of the patients at the end of the day. Would've preferred a bit more consultation, rather than a quick script writing.
Appointment seemed rushed, like they were just trying to get me in and out as quickly as possible without really giving me the time of day. Doctor wasn't fazed about any of my concerns and kind of made me feel silly for going in. Don't think I'll be going back.
I waited about 25 minutes once in the room and felt a little rushed once I saw the doctor.
Dr. Tuffanelli is honest and knowledgeable. But she also was very rushed, and I had to fight to ask all the questions I had on my mind.
Very quick and to the point, but addressed all my needs.
It was fine, no complaints. It was very rushed though - in and out within 3 minutes.
Thorough and highly competent.
Dr. Tuffanelli listened attentively to all of my concerns and she explained whether she could treat each item (or not), and promptly ran through the list. She, and the practice, are a rarity today in that they focus on pure dermatological issues rather than on aesthetic treatments.
I am a little surprised by some of these poor reviews. I found her to be direct and informative. She provided me with samples of a perscription to see if it would help my condition so I wouldn't have to buy it. I would recommend her.
She gave me a cortizone shot for my pimple and popped my blackhead and it was all included with my office co-pay :) Only bad thing was that I had to write out all my info even though I already gave it to ZocDoc.
I like her straightforward manner. She is efficient.
Dr. Tuffanelli is wonderful! Great bedside manner accompanied by a dry wit and very knowledgable. An excellent experience overall.
Terrible bedside manner. Very standoffish and stern. Not seeming interested in my condition whatsoever.
Love Dr. Tuffanelli, she is no nonsense and knows her field well. Not for those who want purely cosmetic advice. She takes late appointments which is awesome for someone who works full time. She gets right to the point so that you're in and out in less than half an hour. Best derm ever.
My previous dermatologist retired so I tried Dr. Tuffanelli. I am happy with the result. I like being able to book an appointment and fill out paperwork online. I was seen relatively promptly. I like Dr. Tuffanelli's professionalism. Full marks.
My PCP referred me to an out-of-network dermatologist. Reluctantly, I had to schedule an appointment with Dr. Tuffanelli since she was the only one available and I could not wait 1 more week to be seen by another doctor. Had I read her reviews here and on Yelp, I most likely would not have chose her. Like other reviews indicate (here and on Yelp): - The office is a bit out-dated with their e-systems: they don't send e-mail reminders to book your next appointment (you will receive snail mail reminders). But does sound like this will change in the coming months - Don't expect your appointment to start on time. I arrived more than 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time: wasn't seen by the doctor until 30 minutes after my scheduled time. I can only imagine what the wait must be like if your appointment is during "peak" hours... - Front staff is nice, typical front staff demeanor. The nurse/back office staff that showed me to my exam room was not so friendly (although I overheard her give greetings, etc. to other patients) - Dr. Tuffanelli isn't a warm, friendly doctor who is going to spend time going over your condition with you. At times, I felt uncomfortable answering her questions (felt like I was being judged for the products I use). This was my first visit to a dermatologist: I would have appreciated a phone call/e-mail indicating if there were some things that I should prepare before my visit with Dr. Tuffanelli. It seems that most of the patients in the waiting room were return patients. I most likely won't return and will get a second opinion.
We connected immediately. She listened carefully and responded in layman terms. I'm lucky my primary care doc recommended Dr Tuffanelli.
Dr. Tuffanelli was amazing. She did a full skin cancer check and spent a good amount of time discussing various concerns I had. There were two moles that were bothering me, and rather than have me set up another time to come in for removal, she offered to remove them that day while I was in the office. The removal was absolutely painless, and I really appreciated not having to set up another appointment. I would absolutely recommend Dr.Tuffanelli to anyone looking for a great dermatologist.
Dr. Tuffanelli was amazing and made sure I was comfortable. Her staff is wonderful as well. You can trust you're in good hands. So happy to have found her!
Lucia is great! I've been to a handful of dermatologists in the past few years and she is definetly the best. She is warm and very knowledgable.
Super efficient and knowledgeable!
She was great. Very efficient and knowledgeable.
It as great. Quick and to the point. Everything I went in for was addressed.
It was great. She was quickly able to understand my problem and provide some solutions to try. Fantastic Dr.
Dr. Tuffanelli was very helpful and demonstrated sincere interest in what I had to say. She was very open to listening to ideas I had based on similar problems my sister experienced and things I had read online. She even gave me a sample of a gel she prescribed for me since my insurance doesn't kick in for a few more days. Great experience!
She is a very good listener. A very experienced doctor. My visit was so "painless". Everything worked to my expectations.
The Doctor was knowledgeable and knew what she was talking about, she gave me options and explained what my options where.
Dr. Tuffanelli was super cool. She even suggested it wasn't worth getting one of the procedures I wanted done and explained why. Made sense. The other, she gave me all the information I asked for: explained the procedure, cost, insurance and more. Loved her. The reception folks were a bit cold. Not rude or unprofessional but not friendly. It was late in the day and maybe they were just tired. That was my only somewhat negative experience.
Dr. Tuffanelli was welcoming and helpful. She helped me understand my skin problems and ways to treat them at home. I would definitely see her again!
Thank you for great service.
She's a nut! I like her. She told me to man up while she cut off my skin tag. She was 100% right. Barely felt anything. ??
Dr. Tuffanelli was a true miracle for me. I felt like I was in the right hands dealing with eczema. She asked all the right questions, was intuitive, and gave me information and education, not just medication. I highly recommend her.
No nonsense, personable and very efficient service. Service was performed by the doctor and not delegated to another party, unlike some other practices.
As always, she was knowledgeable and professional.
It was a bit generic and didn't seem tailored to my skin's needs in particular. I trust that she's the professional but it didn't seem that my prescription was unique to me. There was very little discussion/conversation on my history was or my specific concerns before a general diagnosis was reached.
So helpful with great advice for skin care!
She's smart, straightforward, no nonsense. If you're hyper-sensitive, see someone else. If you want a Dr that doesnt sugar coat stuff? See Dr Tuffanelli!
i found her gruff and uncaring. i won't go back. she zapped a couple of things off my face - three…only one took, but the office still took my money. don't get me started on our healthCARE system.
As shown in my ratings she's a great physician, I really look forward to continuing treatment with her. However, bed side manners are a little rough, and bring a book cause you're gonna wait!
Booked an appointment online through ZocDoc on a Sunday. Showed up as planned on Wednesday, they said the doctor is seeing other patients and that my appointment is an hour later than what I had booked 3 day ago.
There was a bit of a wait, but I thought Dr. Tuffanelli had a casual bedside manner that I appreciated.
I really liked the fact that I could schedule an evening appointment. And, of course the Dr. and her staff were professional, personable, and efficient.
She was great. Approachable and knowledgeable. Helped me out with a tough issue!
Waited about 15 minutes for appointment. Dr. Tuffanelli and nurse were very nice.
Very informative, I felt better as soon as I walked out. Found out about my skin condition, I was told that I had to make changes in daily habits (3 minute showers!) and other recommendations on what can help. Best of all, I got a coupon for the skin cream :)
Dr. Tuffanelli was referred to me by my long time and highly trusted GP. I really appreciate that she involves me in the decision making of what course of treatment to take.
Very personable and great bedside manner. She took the time to explain possible conditions and even worked with me on prescribing things that would be covered by my insurance.
The staff was pleasant so my low review is for the doctor. She seemed extremely rushed, didn't wear gloves or wash her hands and she had visible dirt underneath her fingernails. At one point she coughed and proceeded without pause. On multiple occasions assistants came into the room without knocking - albeit I was clothed but one expects a certain amount of privacy.
