Dr. Lucy Chen is the newest physician to join our practice! Born in China, she was raised in Columbus, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Washington University in St. Louis. She attended medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and graduated with top honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Distinction in Research. Dr. Chen also completed a cutaneous oncology research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, mentored by Dr. Alan Halpern, Dr. Ashfaq Marghoob, and Dr. Steven Wang, the world’s experts in melanoma, skin cancer detection and imaging and dermatologic surgery. It was there where she returned to complete her internship training.
Her residency training in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery was completed at the University of Miami where she received training in Mohs micrographic surgery and was recognized with the Excellence in Dermatologic Surgery award. She was also the recipient of the national dermMentors “Resident of Distinction” award, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery Preceptorship Award for Cosmetic Dermatology under the guidance of Dr. Sabrina Fabi in San Diego, CA. She is highly published in major journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and has presented at numerous national and international dermatology conferences. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Society and Women’s Dermatologic Society.
