Had a very pleasant visit, great doctor however did not actually take my insurance so call ahead!
I enjoyed meeting him very much and found his assessment of my situation spot on, efficient, caring, and helpful. My one complaint is that his cell phone was on during our first appointment and each time it "pinged," he would look at it! Unprofessional and insulting to me and my time. I think that's unacceptable for a therapist or doctor. (If he had apologized or explained there was an emergency situation he had to check on, that would have been fine. But he didn't indicate that.) Anyway, he was good otherwise and I've continued to see him for follow-ups. (No further cell phone use!)
The office is a little odd, but the doctor and staff are wonderful.
The worst. He asked me the exact same set of questions in my second appointment that he asked me in my first - "any vacations this year?", "Where are you from?", "Do you live alone?", etc. Didn't even remember that we met before. Did not feel genuine in the least. The two women I encountered that work in this office are extremely rude and condescending. They were very nasty to me over the phone and in person. They didn't even call in my prescription after my second appointment. I have called them several times since and they have yet to return my voicemails. I am now out of my prescription. The WORST. Absolute worst.
Doesn't listen to your problems and just prescribes anything under the sun. Also office won't respond to pharmacy questions so I haven't been able to get prescriptions I need for days.
I personally had a wonderful experience. The building is a little confusing so by the time I found the waiting room I was a little nervous. When Kremberg came out to get the next patient he noticed how nervous I was and went over to me. He reassured me that they will take care of me and informed me that the receptionist would come out soon to give me paperwork to fill out. He is a truly caring man who took a moment to make me feel comfortable in his office before it was even my time to be seen. If you want an easy going, caring man who knows what he is talking about and is willing to put you on the medication you need and feel comfortable with then he is your guy. The woman who works with him is a little abrasive at first but do not let that discourage you, she also cares about your well being and knows what she is doing. They compliment each other well. I would recommend this office.
Swanky, eccentric man who knows his stuff. Not your typical office experience but he can provide you solid counseling.
He was thorough and kind.
In and out doesn't remember you
Best psychiatrist I've met on zoc doc!!! Great guy, sweet and thorough.
-Dr. Kremberg had great bedside manner, was very knowledgeable, and took his time -The office manager was friendly and patient
Staff are rude. Extremely rushed visits. You will never get in touch with the office over the phone. Uncordinated. If you are looking for in and out, maybe go for this guy.
Visit was brief, but productive. First time seeing this doctor, so I'm going to reserve judgement on accuracy of treatment or effectiveness for a future visit.
Impossible to get a hold of and get prescriptions filled as a result. Uncomfortable setting as it's in what's clearly his apartment.
He reminds me of John Waters in a good way
Kremberg will prescribe you whatever you want but his office is the most unorganized doctors office I've ever seen. They never answer the phone, return voicemail or respond to emails. My last appointment there was over a month ago and he just never filled my prescription.
He asked a lot of questions, seemed to be paying attention, was fairly thorough in his examination and made me feel comfortable knowing that I was getting the help I needed. The office is very eccentric but if you're an artist or someone in the creative field, you should feel right at home.
I cannot more strongly suggest you go elsewhere - unless you are looking for someone who doesn't care about you enough to remember your name (first or last) after being a patient for a year.
Dr. Kremberg was very nice and easy to speak with and his staff was friendly and courteous and professional.
Very bad bedside manner. Never answer the phones. If you need to contact the doctor outside of your appointment no chance. Also rude staff.
I was a new patient; I had been told to see a psychiatrist by my neurologist so it was unlikely I would be a long-term patient. He took the time to focus on my rather idiosyncratic issues, and he eventually did not prescribe anything or suggest I come back but instead encouraged me to get neuro-psychological testing which I thought was admirably professional.
Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Kremberg was not great. On both occasions I visited, he was late, unfamiliar with who I was, and didn't seem engaged in what I was saying or asking. My bigger concern, however, is that neither he, nor his office, ever answer the phone or return calls/emails. As a result, I have not been able to schedule a followup or fill my prescription (not a good feeling!). It's difficult to find a doctor, but you can do better than this.
His assistant charged me the wrong amount for my copay for my first visit, then at the second visit I had to explain that to her AND that I didn't have a deductible. Then she didn't give me a receipt for my second payment, and then called in the wrong prescriptions. On top of all that, I left 4 voice messages for them explaining that I needed the correct prescriptions called in and no one called me back in 3 weeks. Absurd.
I understand some of the comments that regard him as being dismissive and not taking his time, but remember he's a psychiatrist, not a psychologist; he's there to prescribe medication and recommend therapists, not perform talk therapy for an hour. I did feel like he was rushed with the questions and didn't seem to listen, but he did; he remembered tidbits I had mentioned at the beginning of the session that really impacted his prescription recommendation. Furthermore, he really seemed to listen when I told him about problems I was having with my previous medication and prescription. My previous psychiatrist dismissed me when i would describe certain symptoms or thoughts that were really impacting my quality of life, which was incredibly frustrating. I know my mind and emotions better than anyone else? Dr. Kremberg, on the other hand, really listened and took me seriously. It ended up greatly impacting the diagnosis and medication. As for trying to get a follow-up, it has been tough to get in touch with the office. I need to reschedule an appointment I made during my initial visit, and trying to get him on the phone is impossible. It's not an "emergency" per se, but I really need to reschedule and can't wait a few more weeks.
I figured the good comments outweighed the bad, but unfortunately this was not the right choice for me. Although he was nice, I felt my appointment was not only rushed, but once I didn't seem like a threat to myself or another person, his attention was on his coffee or his phone.
It's first come first serve at this office, but I like the building and decore (kinda eclectic). I've been to one other psychiatrist and he didn't ask nearly as many questions, so Dr K has been more thorough for me. My next appointment is in a month, so I'm hoping my treatment continues to exceed expectations.
My experience with M. Roy Kremberg and his office staff was terrible. The office staff never picks up the phone and does not respond to emails or voicemails. Dr. Kremberg adjusted my combination of medications and I had a severe reaction (serotonin syndrome) for which I went to the ER. I called the doctor's office, emailed the office and called and texted his cell phone. I did not hear back from them until the following afternoon. Furthermore, Dr. Kremberg prescribed me extremely expensive medications twice. I imagine he gets perks or kickbacks from those pharma companies or reps. I suffer from anxiety and visiting this office induced a panic attack on more than one occasion. I have since found a professionally staffed office and psychologist with who has prescribed safe and effective pharmacological treatment.
I was referred to Dr. Kremberg to help deal with the loss of a loved one. He is very, very kind, sensitive, extremely detailed in the important questions he has to ask to make a prognosis mental health. I found him to be immensely professional and genuinely caring. I felt at ease right away. He has a wonderful manner.
This was the most bizarre doctor's visit I've ever had. Straight out of a movie. I'm sure he's a fine doctor but I prefer a little more traditional and less eccentric.
Dr. Kremberg is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Kremberg was helpful and professional, direct and understanding! Highly recommended!
Dr Kremberg was an absolute pleasure to speak to. He really was able to pinpoint exactly what was going on with me by taking the time to get to know me on a deeper level than most psychiatrists that I've seen in the past. He seemed very invested in helping me through my issues and I am happy that I found him!
Intelligent, efficient, and caring doctor. Asked a lot of questions about my background and symptoms. Highly recommended. The wait time was a little bit long, but he doesn't rush anyone out which is great.
Great. Very helpful and quick appointments!
The assisting staff has a horrible bedside manner. They lack any sort of tact and discuss confidential issues in earshot of other patients. The doctor asked scripted questions while immediately forgetting any information that I told him. He confused me with multiple patients multiple times. At the end of the session he seemed to forget information he had told me moments earlier. He'll write you a script so if you have been treated before or have a suggestion from a therapist he'll likely get that for you though.
Dr. Kremberg was very helpful and attentive, and listened to what I had to say. He asked many questions and was very thorough. The two women who work in his office were incredibly nice and patient, as well as thorough. They greeted me by name as soon as I got there, even though I had never been there before. Convenient office location too.
I switched to Dr. Kremberg for my follow up, for a Dr. that was in my network. Kind, attentive, smart, and efficient. Highly recommend.
Excellent experience! Very professional!
Legal drug dealer. If you know what prescription you want, then go to this guy. He doesn't care to talk things out. He's just there to write the 'script. He also honors continuing patients rather than the ones from ZocDoc. Be prepared to wait a while.
VERY professional doctor. Thorough and helpful.
Very professional, and intelligent.
Met with me for 10 minutes and then wrote 3 prescriptions and told me I was clinically depressed. After 10 minutes. He had no concern to actually talk about my problems or why I was there. 2 of the prescriptions really affected my lifestyle with bad side effects, I wish I wouldn't have went to this doctor. I would recommend going elsewhere.
Greatly impress about the place and the professionalism of the staff.
Seemed bored and uninterested during my appointment. Kept looking at the clock and I think he fell asleep at one point. He kept getting the details of my life wrong and prescribed me 3 medications after our first appointment. He was impossible to get in touch with after that day.
Dr. Kremberg is wise and supportive. He is a consummate professional and most knowledgable in his field.
Going into the appointment i was sad, after the appointment i wanted to die. Waited an hour in the waiting room. He hardly listened to me, diagnosed me within 15 mins of meeting wrote me a prescription they sent me on my way.
The set up is a bit different than I expected since it is kind of a home office. Once I met the receptionist and then Dr.Kremberg I felt very well taken care of. He is very thorough, attentive, caring and made me feel comfortable. He listens well, is interested in his patients explains things and answers all questions. He is knowledgeable and approachable. Glad I found him.
T'he doctor was fine, but he did not speak Spanish like it said in his profile. This is the 2nd time on ZocDoc where the doctor lists Spanish but don't speak. My English is okay, but I prefer to have medical visits in my native language.
Long wait time but otherwise a decent visit.
Compassionate, easy to talk to, thorough in his inquiry to reach a diagnosis, listens equally as well as he speaks. It was immediately evident that Dr. Kremberg is a very well-educated psychiatrist and an intuitive man. It is refreshing to be under the care of a doctor whose office I do not leave with more questions and apprehension, but rather a sense of ease.
Dr. Kremberg is awesome! Extremely professional, comforting, and caring! Not to mention he's got a great office setup. I will be returning and I highly recommend him! He definitely knows what he's doing.
The Dr. and receptionist were insensitive, rude and completely destroyed my son's desire to seek help. Totally un professional
My experience was very good. The doctor was very courteous and he listened to the issues I was dealing with. I didn't feel rushed like most places I have visited in the past. His assistant was very pleasant and helpful and made sure that all my questions were answered. Please note that when you do visit, you should bring cash as he does not accept credit cards. Other than that I highly recommend him and plan to keep visiting him in the future :)
I have seen Dr. Kemberg several times during the last couple of years and he has always been excellent, taking time to talk to me and to know about my life and how he can help me. Dr. Kemberg is simultaneously personable and professional - always a much welcomed and refreshing mix in this hectic city.
Dr. Kremberg and his assistant were so kind and put me at ease immediately. The doctor was very thorough and took great care to explain EVERYTHING to me and make me feel like part of the process. So far am doing well on the regimen he prescribed. Very much looking forward to continuing my care with him.
I was surprised at how comfortable I felt with Dr. Kremberg. He was clearly listening to me and made me feel at ease immediately. His office staff was lovely and personable and made themselves available to me via email or phone. I felt very supported.
Yes I do ! The best dr. In my life ??????????????????????
Very professional and to the point, knows what he is talking about and ready to address all of my concerns. Also his receptionist was great.
Effective and to the point. I already knew what I needed so it was pretty easy. He won't talk to you about your life for an hour, but if that's what you're looking for you should probably look for a therapist and not a psychiatrist. I didn't have any problems with the office staff, they were all pleasant. They do only take cash (or check, but who even has checks anymore??), which is slightly annoying but not too bad if you have insurance coverage.
Very unprofessional office - no one will EVER answer the phone. I had an appointment at 10:30AM and the receptionist arrived AFTER I did and walked right up to me and asked for my insurance information without even introducing herself - I had no idea who she was and I had to ask. The office is a rather cramped, cluttered space in an apartment. The physician himself was disheveled in appearance, albeit polite. The office does not take credit cards. Neither the physician nor his secretary called in a pre-authorization for the medication I was prescribed even after I asked them to and I was unable to get ahold of them to do so after I left. I will likely have to return to the office to ask them to do it in person. At this rate it's not worth the hassle to see a physician that takes insurance - just pay the extra and see someone who has a real office and employees who do their jobs!
My visit was effective.
I arrived late do to traffic he was very understanding. A very professional and kind bedside manner. Was exactly what I needed and wanted in a doctor.
His office never returns phone calls, after many many attempts.
Very nice. He cares about his patients and is always on time
I feel like I've been scammed. What an awful office. I read the bad reviews and ignored them because I only wanted to go in to get meds refilled and he was close by. I went three times, i.e. wasted 3 visits worth of co-pays, and only got my meds once. The office would not answer my calls or emails to provide the prior authorization I needed to get my meds filled-- they only responded the THIRD time I emailed them when I said they could cancel my next appointment because obviously it was useless going there. I can't imagine what kind of people feel ok straight up ignoring patients because they're too lazy or careless to allow their patients to get the medicine they need. Luckily my meds weren't urgent, but I could have been needing necessary anti-psychotics or something and they ignored me!
Concise, to the point.
I think Dr. Kremberg is very smart and knows his meds well. He is also compassionate. The visits are short as he takes insurance unlike many doctors in Manhattan with his credentials.
If you want psychiatric meds, go here. Ideal if you know exactly what you want before coming.
Compassionate, listens to your concerns. Definitely recommend!
He was very kind, talked slowly to make sure I understand everything. Answered all the questions I have.
I had to reschedule due to a last minute inconvinience.
I was running late and while I had to wait about 45 mins after I arrived ( 20 mins late) dr Kremberg was accommodating. He spent about 45 mins listening to my complicated history and was very helpful. It's a plus that his office is in a beautiful building!
The office is gorgeous and everyone was extremely nice
Extremely professional and willing listen to my issues and concerns. Highly recommend.
Dr. Kremberg was easy to talk to and very helpful in determining my diagnosis. I felt comfortable discussing numerous issues with him.
This was by far the most unsettling and unprofessional experience I've ever had with a doctor. His "office" is actually a dark, completely doll and tchoke-filled apartment. After waiting 30 minutes for my appointment I was led to a very quick session with him that felt like he was reading a textbook series of questions. It was my first time considering going on antidepressants as I felt like I was no longer managing well with just psychotherapy. He prescribed me a very pricy new antidepressant with no generic and also swabbed me for a genetic test that he said "maybe my insurance would cover, and if it doesn't, then ignore it." After I went to fill my prescription out I realized that I was going to go off my generous insurance in 2 months when I went to grad school, so I called him back to see if he could put me on a prescription of ANY other widely available anti-depressant with generics. I received NO follow-up and a year later I am getting notices for nonpayment of the absurdly pricy "gene" test that he swabbed me for. This doctor is a creepy prescription-happy scam and I have no idea how his ratings here are so high when they are abysmal everywhere else. All of the other highly rated ZocDoc doctors I've been with are excellent - sadly this was a serious miss!
never called back to schedule another appointment
Dr. Kremberg is very professional and listened to my needs. I strong recommend him.
Impossible to reach Dr. Kremberg' office. His staff does not return phone calls . Very frustrating to say the least.
Terrible appointment. I was the only person in the waiting room and 6 people came in and out in the hour i waited. It was not a comforting experience and I was already nervous about the appointment. Asked a lot of questions but only seemed like he was reading from a script. Serious drug pusher too.
Dr. Kremberg is a brilliant man, he is very punctual, and very polite. He is a quick study and his office is pristine. I would highly recommend!
Dr. Kremberg prescribed me anti-psychotic medication as a "sleep aid" even though the other medications he had already prescribed me interacted with it. My PCP thought I had a thyroid problem and I went through testing and ultrasounds until we realized it was the medication causing my symptoms. I have no idea why he gave me that medication. Only go to him if you already know what you need and make sure you research the prescriptions he gives you before you fill them. Dude is drug happy for sure.
The worst! My first time seeing a psychiatrist and I felt cheated and l worse than before seeing him. He sat with me for maybe all of 10 minutes at most and then just wanted to prescribe medication.
I was impressed with his knowledge and his ability to diagnose so quickly. I'm very happy with the experience
Visit was fine but impossible to get another appointment. Doesn't answer phones or voicemail and overbilled me.
Dr. Kremberg was nice and personal, and made me feel comfortable to talk. He was able to spot my issue accurately and helped me achieve the resolution I was looking for.
Medication mill. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone in this office by phone or email, and wait times ranged from 1 or 2 minutes up to more than an hour. Appointments were typically 5 minutes long. He never knew my name and did not seem to recognize me or remember anything we had discussed.
Very helpful, secretary was rude and tried to drive me out with asking for a strange fee (not a copap) and never received a follow up email with doctors they would recommend. Also horrible at returning phone calls. Doctor was awesome once I was in office though in terms of understanding and diagnosis and then treatment. Cautious but not scared to take measures.
I had a great experience. He is very kind and actually listens to what you have to say - something that is very important to me. He makes you feel at ease and wants to help you the best he can. I would absolutely recommend him.
Weirdest experience appointment of my life. Dr. Kremberg is a high priced pharmacy housed in a spooky eccentric wooden paneled apartment. Waited about 45 mins after being treated very nastily by his staff (one woman is nice while the other is a nightmare). Spoke to him for about six minutes. Was given prescriptions and sent on my way. Also they take my insurance but had no idea I was a new patient and hadn't called it in so I had no idea before going I had to pay in cash. Overall a really weird experience. If you want meds and know what you need, go for it. If you're experiencing first-time mental health problems and need someone to speak to about them, I implore you to go elsewhere.
Was very rude and insensitive. Was able to see him only once, and then never picked up my calls sine then.
He was very knowledgeable and professional and very willing to listen to my concerns and prescribe the medications that I asked him about. I see people complaining about how they didn't get to talk enough, but come on he is a psychiatrist so don't go expecting to have a long deep conversation with him. He will either give you a prescription or refer you to a good therapist.
Mmmm no follow up and hard to reach on long term union teachers 90 day Medco insurance ??, why?
Love Pamela and the rest of the team at Dr. Kremberg's. They are very efficient and helpful. Dr. Kremberg is thorough, very knowledgeable and has an incredible intuition about him. Be prepared... the office is a little quirky. But don't let it scare you off – the team is great!
Very caring and compassionate.
He was professional and knowledgeable and that's what I was looking for in a Psychiatrist.
This was my first visit to Dr. Kremberg and I found him very pleasant to speak to. I agree with many of the other reviewers that you really go to see him if you feel that you want to be prescribed medicine. It was not the type of visit where you dig into your psyche or anything but rather express why you're there and then receive a diagnosis. He also takes my insurance which very few psychiatrists do. Overall a good experience.
I am a bit confused by all of these positive reviews. This guy is pretty much a legal drug dealer. He has written me 5+ prescriptions in one visit! Not once did we ever "talk" about things so not quite sure how he is listed on zocdoc as a therapist as well.
In. Credible. Seriously. Dr. K is the best I've seen. He listens carefully to patients' personal needs, and is very conscientious about developing a course of treatment and options tailored to the patient. His staff is lovely, and his office is a calming dream. I absolutely loved him. Please, Dr. K ... Never retire!
Everything about this doctor is great. The only trouble I have is to calling his office. Nobody answers. I needed to change a prescription and nothing has been done till this day. I have called uncountable times, sent email but unfortunately NO REPLY.
The visit feels rushed. His office never calls back no matter how many times you (or your pharmacist) call or email.
He pretty much only dispenses medication. I've had 3 appointments with him and the first lasted about 30 minutes, and the others I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. All he does is write you scripts for the medications you're on. If you just need refills, he's your guy. If you're looking for a therapist, look elsewhere.
Very helpful, great insight
Great if all you want is a prescription and to be sent on your way.
Speedy, but thorough.
Dr. Kremberg was very attentive and listened to what I had to say. He was very personable and proactive in regards to treatment. I will return and highly recommend for other patients.
Great doctor, beautiful offices!
First time visit after needing to change doctors with new insurance coverage...Very professional and staff was helpful. Appointment was on time and wait time was less than 5 minutes for initial paperwork. Plan on returning for regular appointments
Visit OK. But it's impossible to reach this Doctor. Noone answers the phone and no one returns phone calls. Totally unprofessional!!
This doctor advertises that he is a psycho-pharmacologist but when you get there, he says he no longer does talk therapy- only medication "doling". He also only prescribes 60 days worth of medicine which my insurance bills me much more money for opposed to a 90 day supply. Beyond that, this Doctor's office is like visiting some altered john waters universe of kookiness. From the decor to Dr. Kremberg's bazaar bedside manner, this place strange. One of the staff members is very nice, while the other is a complete nightmare and rude as heck. People wandering all around. It is impossible to get an appointment too. Beware.
very impersonal. office setting not conducive to therapy. office assistants unprofessional.
I thought he was way to eager to prescribe and diagnose, his office felt very strange to me and he had a terrible bedside manner. I would never go back to him
Kremberg is a consummate professional, and his manner of speech is very eloquent and just a little bit eccentric. He's not particularly empathic/sensitive as a friend if that's what you're looking for in a therapist, but indeed an approachable man who listens to and understands your concerns. He doesn't push anything on you, and instead respects your wishes. His background and approach is clinical, and he has a relaxed demeanor of a well seasoned doctor. As others reviewers have said, his focus is really on administration of medicines. He's not someone you should choose if you're looking to build a personal relationship with a talk therapist. However If you're looking for a medicinal approach to mental health, he is very helpful. He can also refer to you to books and other professionals for mental health issues outside of his specialty. His practice is comprised of two or three rooms inside his apartment. The décor around the apartment is posh with many eccentric furnishings and collectibles. Classical music plays lightly in the background.
Comfortable conversation for my first ever visit to a psychiatrist. Unique, and very ecclectic (not dr office-like at all!) premises, in a beautiful and ornate upper west side building, the Astonia.
Very professional and knowledgeable. I liked the alternatives he presented and his clarity. Highly recommended.
very straight forward and easy to talk to.
It was excellent. He quickly identified my problems and situation and was very careful in explaining the effects and use of the psychopharmaceuticals he prescribed. What impressed me most was his dedication to finding both short and long-term solutions to my problem.
My visit with Dr. Kremberg was fascinating and thorough. He is a world traveler and adorns his office with things he collected. It sets up a very cozy environment and made me feel comfortable almost immediately. He is direct to the point and does well with his questions--again, he knows what he's looking for and guides the meeting in the most productive way.
Excellent knows his stuff very well..only problem was long wait.
To be the first time I think it was a very nice experience.Thank You so much for your help.Evarista.
Excellent. This was my very first time seeing Dr. Kremberg. He listened to what I had to say and asked questions and took a genuine interest in my situation and condition. I am very pleased that I made an appointment with him.
Dr. Kremberg is first and foremost a psychopharmacologist, and an excellent one. He is extremely knowledgable. I would say that its best to see him if you have at least some experience with mental health treatment. Any psychopharm visit might feel a little abrupt for someone who's never been in treatment before or isn't in concurrent talk therapy. However, he really knows his stuff, and I found him to be warm and pleasant to talk to. He paid close attention and would recap what I said to make sure he was understanding me correctly. The office staff were also professional and nice. I was comfortable from beginning to end.
Great - fast and to the point. Very knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Dr. Kremberg.
Personable and friendly. If you have to go to a doctor once per month, you definitely want to see someone who is easy to be around, which is him.
seemed to ask the right questions to elicit the answers that he needed.
Waited with at least 3 other patients at a time every time - 15 minute appointments. It seemed as if he was cranking through appointments as fast as possible for personal benefit. I had to remind him of my history every time I went because he couldn't find my file, or wasn't organized enough to remember where it went. Too aggressive with medication changes and showed no real interest in any effects of medications prescribed... Also very aggressive with giving samples - possibly motivated by pharmaceutical payoffs
My first visit was excellent. He was attentive and listened to all of my concerns. He spent time getting to know me and understand my needs. I felt very comfortable talking to him.
It took me three weeks to get an appointment on Zocdoc. I pre summited my insurance information as I usually do to Dr Kremberg's office, but when I got there he said he did not take my insurance. The session lasted 10 mins and he referred me to another doctor in Queens by Forest Hill. I would appreciated if his office would contact me before so I wouldn't waste my time going to the upper east side Very disappointed
Dr. Kremberg is a good, thorough listener and has a personable manner. His office is quite interesting and I found his staff members to be very pleasant and nice to deal with. I did have to wait a bit, but not so long that it became an inconvenience. All in all, I was very happy with my experience and look forward to seeing Dr. Kremberg again.
Straight to the point, easy to talk to, very smart.
did not feel comfortable with him. he was quick to diagnose me rather than get to know me.
I had a satisfactory visit. Cozy office, nice staff. He met with me right on time and made me feel very comfortable.
It was very very strange! He records sessions and overprescribes medication! His office is weird.
In the middle of the work day, the wait time was too long. His assistant/nurse has not customer service skills on the phone. My initial visit, Kremberg needed to call my insurance company for approval, which he never did. I called his office multiple times and left messages for assistance and he never returned a call. My experience with Kremberg was substandard and would not recommend his services to anyone! He is a poor reflection on ZocDoc . . .
My visits with Dr. Kremberg have been perfunctory. He is pleasant enough, if not terribly related. One of his staff members is lovely and professional. The others, not so much. My main complaints with Dr. Kremberg: 1. I've been a patient for two years. He has no idea who I am. Without fail, his first question is, "Who are you, why are you seeing me, and what have I prescribed for you?" Aren't these questions a professional doctor should have down cold before you're shown into the office? Why the charade with the tape in the cassette recorder and the note pad if none of the info they record help him with my case the next time I see him? Why can't he he get this, to me, crucial part of his act together? 2. For the last week I have made six calls to Dr. Kremberg's office, five to the office phone, one to his cell. Not one call has been returned. I was polite and understanding with the first four calls. I was not impolite with the last two made this morning, but I did not disguise my annoyance with the fact that he has not responded to the calls. These were requests for refill of a prescription that, if I go without it for more than a day, leaves me with uncomfortable physical sensations. To say the least, it's an inconvenience to not have this medication, and the symptoms are exacerbated by stress. It seems unethical to me, to put it mildly, for a doctor to ignore this request from a patient. I do not recommend his services. In fact, I highly recommend avoiding them.
It was good
I felt great confidence in his abilities.
Very nice and helpful.
Dr. Kremberg is unusual in that he requests a thorough psychiatric history a new patient's psychiatric history. However, his assessments appear to me to be superficial, only inquiring after
Dr. Kremberg is to the point. As with any consultation, you (the patient) should be prepared to consider various possible diagnoses, as your symptoms will likely be subjective (i.e., I feel like x...). That said, this physician is startlingly insightful and does listen to his patients. With me, he seemed to be somewhat cautious in building my regimen of medications, but this also seemed prudent (given the lag time for most antipsychotics and the variability of patient response). Overall, I've been very pleased with the progression of my treatment with Dr. Kremberg.
He was rude and a terrible listener. He wanted to talk more about my weight than my long-standing depression and anxiety - on the first visit.
I have nothing but good things to say. Dr Kremberg greeted me with respect and warmth and continued that way throughout my appointment. He actively listened to my concerns, both personal and with the medicine I take and gave intelligent and well thought out suggestions. He really knows his stuff and is sensitive to issues that other doctors seem to ignore or even trivialize, like my hesitation to take medication. His office staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and knowledgeable as well. I highly highly recommend Dr. Kremberg.
Quirky guy, gave me a surplus of medications. Definitely not for everyone, but a great fit for me. I had to wait in the small waiting room for about 50 minutes though
I saw him for nearly a year, and he never remembered my name or anything about me. He pushes medications from drug reps despite my concerns about side effects and cost (my insurance didn't cover that brand, but he refused to prescribe anything else). Their office never answers the phone or returns calls (not an exaggeration -- literally never). They don't accept credit cards, so bring cash. He also over-prescribed me multiple medications for things I didn't really have "just in case" (anxiety, for example). So if you want a sketchy prescription without a lot of scrutiny, he's your guy! Seriously, go elsewhere.
He was very nice. Made me feel comfortable and ease when talking.
Strangest experience with a medical provider, ever. Do not recommend.
I liked Dr. Kremberg. He was compassionate. Visit was short. He does not do therapy. He is just for medication. His office is most interesting.
Dr. Kremberg worked with me on figuring out insurance concerns. He is thoughtful, considerate and genuine. He worked with me towards resolving several queries that had long been bothering me in the first session. His office is definitely of the old school ilk- which I was not prepared for- more used to being in medical sterile offices. But there is something nice about being in the doctors office that has wood floors and books.
He is understanding, clear, and informative. Addresses concerns thoroughly. The staff is also wonderful.
Great doctor, great office. Makes a point to get to know his patient and has a genuine concern for his patients.
gets the job done
Dr. Kremberg is okay. He has so many patients that I feel like he's always rushed (my medicine check up with him was literally like 5 minutes) and doesn't actually know who I am at all...maybe that's the price you pay for seeing someone who takes basically every insurance and patient?
Direct, appropriate, provided me medication through a personal crisis. Will definitely see him again.
Uninterested by his patients, prescribes whatever pills and will not offer support. Makes you pay for missing appointement when he's impossible to reach to cancel.
The whole visit was pretty weird, not sure if this is a doctor's office, his apartment, or his high priced storage unit. Very difficult to contact, I never heard back from them when I tried to schedule a follow up.
This guy was very strange. He recorded a statement from me and wrote me a prescription for a new, experimental drug right away, without telling me what it was or why is chose it. His house is filled with 1000's of porcelain asian figures. His secretary met me in the kitchen and I signed some forms on his kitchen table. Truly, the most bizarre encounter with a medical professional I've ever had.
I like his office. It feels like walking in very cozy private apartment. I only wish he spend a bit more time with me
He really listened to what I was saying and his responce was very subtle and very tuned to my needs in an approach that I felt was very thorough. I most definitely look forward to my next appt, in continuing on a path inorder to allow more piece to enter my life! William Hay
Bit impatient, does not usually have time for a relaxed conersation, but medications he has suggested have worked well so far!
it was very good.
I was seen by Dr. Kremberg for about a year. I'm an easy patient with a stable medication course. I came in knowing what worked for me. Dr Kremberg never addressed me by my first name and at each appointment asked me to remind him of my last name. I'm convinced he didn't know my name at all. At my second visit, my file couldn't be found at all. And at my third visit, Dr. Kremberg took a cell phone call! I get that emergency calls to the cell are important, but that's what office staff are for. Especially since it was apparently a call about a later event (conference) and meeting up, not something life threatening. Now, I have multiple contacts in with Dr. Kremberg to make a follow-up appointment as I'm low on medication and I've been unable to reach anyone at the office or receive an email back confirming an appointment (AS I'VE BEEN TOLD TO SCHEDULE IN THE PAST.) Granted, tonight was the third time I'd tried to contact, but in the mental health field, this is unacceptable.
Excellent professional, was clear and impressive with his insights and recommendations, inspired full confidence in me.
This doctor loves to prescribe meds but isn't so great with the bed-side manner. After 6 months, he still doesn't know my name.
I was very unhappy with my visits to this office. I spoke with the doctor for less than a few minutes each time and even found that he talked over me.
Dr. Kremberg took the time to understand my situation and he seems very experienced and to have superior knowledge of his speciality.
Dr. Kremberg spent less than ten minutes with me which mainly consisted of him pushing prescriptions. His office is a revolving door of patients.
Dr. Kremberg is a fantastic doctor and has an encyclopedic knowledge of phycho-pharmacology and medicine in general. A fantastic meds manager and sincere pro.
he did not remember me at second visit. pushed a lot of pills on me which I was not interested in. he was very impersonal, short and I was very unimpressed.
Very sensitive, he seemed to really care about what was going on in my life. I am definitely going to be seeing him long term! Have an appointment in 3 weeks.
Unusual; but helpful
My second appointment with this provider was so terrible I will not be going back. I had a simple issue obtaining a prescription and he did not return any of my calls. I scheduled and appointment when my medication ran out and the office staff was incredibly nasty to me when I calmly asked them for help getting my prescription called in. He does not concern himself with these matters and does not get to know his patients, my visit consisted of him asking me if I needed anything and then leaving me to be attacked by his secretaries. I strongly advise against using this provider.
He may be a bright man who deals with a lot of tough cases but he didn't listen to what I had to say, and I would not recommend him at all, I'm sorry to say.
Very helpful and efficient - two things not often seen at the same time in doctors. I was in and out quickly, but without feeling like I was being tossed to the side. Also, office staff were very welcoming and kind.
He was pleasant.
What a lovely soul. I'm so thankful I chose Dr. Kremberg.
Traumatizing experience. Very stuffy office. Not friendly or welcoming atmosphere. Uncomfortable is the only way to describe it. If you need help, go elsewhere.
Very impressed, I have only been once, but he took his time, and throughly listened to me.
He's quirky but knows his stuff. Quick, effective, results-oriented. Don't go to him if you want your dreams analyzed.
Super professional & pleasant staff. The doctor was quite thorough & made me feel at ease. Listened to my issues & made it clear that we're going to try all options until we find something that's efficient & I'm comfortable with.
He was fine for my first appointment. He was slightly rude, arrogant, and didn't really seem to care why i was there. He over perscribed me then continued to cancel my follow up appointments. Not recommended!
Good for an emergency visit or two. Not good for building a long-term relationship.
First of all, this "Doctor's" office is also his residence which was very cluttered with personal affects etc. which made it seem a little unprofessional. The session was very quick and Dr. Kremberg's mind seemed to be somewhere else. He quickly rattled off some questions to confirm that I was not a schizophrenic and then prescribed me meds for my insomnia and ocd. I never ended up filling the prescriptions and was able to overcome my insomnia and ocd on my own. I never went back again.
Was thorough and kept on task. Asked lots of questions. Staff was very friendly. The whole office made you feel you were welcome and they would take good care of you.
My issue is not directly with Dr. Kremberg during sessions, but rather the staff within the office. My issues with his staff are three fold. 1 - They never answer the phone. Due to this confirming an appointment time is utterly impossible. 2 - I called when I needed a refill of my RX prior to my next appointment. Even after leaving 7 messages over the course of 2 weeks, I never heard from either the Dr. or his staff. This left me without my RX. When I finally did get them on the phone they were extremely rude and hostle. At one point, the admin even said to me "what?! do you think you are our only patient? I can't return every single phone call." Due to this, I was left without a RX for 3 weeks. 3 - I was overcharged for my visits. It wasn't till I received information in the mail from my health care provider that this came to light. I'm still waiting on my reimbursement and I'm sure I'll have to continue to call and harp until this is resolved. It is difficult to find a Dr. that you feel comfortable with and trust. Unfortunately, even through I liked Dr. K his staffing issues have forced me to find another doctor. If I can't rely on receiving my medications consistently and have my questions/concerns answered, I can't continue to visit the Dr.
He texted and picked up the phone during my session.
I agree with most comments here. Dr. Kremberg is able to listen and show concern but if you expect more, you're looking for a therapist, not a psychiatrist. His expertise is in psychopharmacology but he respects your opinion of your internal state. It's a bit frustrating that I couldn't get to ZocDoc and the office didn't call me back, however...
I like Dr. Kremberg. I think you need to be very clear with what is going on with you and what you are asking for, because the office is very busy. I wrote down my diagnosis and medication history before my appointment so I could give it to him. He gave me my current medication as well as new ones to try to tweak what's going on for me. You have to be willing to take responsibility for trying your medication and reporting back to him. For me it works because I am well educated in psychopharmacology and willing to have some freedom to experiment, but it might not be a good approach for everyone.
He listened so carefully to what i was saying and made me realize i will get better by seeing him.
Dr. K and his staff are the consummate professionals. He is definitely not a pill pusher, but certainly a practical and compassionate meds manager.
Seemed extremely intelligent and knowledgeable of his field. He really wants to help cure your problems ASAP rather than help you slowly and milk you for your money with more follow up appointments. Best psychiatrist I have ever been to and I have been to many!
Absolutely outstanding professional. Wonderful way to connect with you and make you feel at ease. And his staff is equally outstanding.
Dr Kremberg and his staff were very friendly, professional and approachable. I felt that he asked appropriate questions and was responsive to my needs.
I would recommend doctor Kremberg. I felt very comfortable talking to him.
He was attentive, quick, and to the point. Great for a first meeting.
Only prescribes meds. Does not offer therapy.
The office is amazing! He is warm and welcoming and efficient. I look forward to working with him.
knowledgeable- good beside manner- would recommend.
I liked Dr K but when I needed to speak with his office manager about prescriptions and my follow-up, I did not receive any calls back. This has been about two weeks, and I couldn't even get a reminder of the follow-up. Now on ZocDoc it shows a three week wait, which would be five weeks later than when he wanted me to return.
I read a lot of negative feedback, but after much anxiety was pleasantly surprised with my appointment. I suffer from major depression disorder and have been battling with this for over six years. After getting past the initial rude guard at the desk downstairs and figuring out the whereabouts of the office, I sat down in the waiting room and a few minutes later was greeted with paperwork. I would definitely suggest arriving early if you're a new patient, because I had to fill out a lot of forms, some of which had been photocopied so many times that the edges were cut off. Regardless of this off-putting paperwork and the eclectic/outdated waiting room, I figured I'd at least continue and give it a shot. By the way, their office does not take credit cards, so I'm glad that I brought cash for my co-pay. Dr. Kremberg was direct, but knowledgeable and honest in his approach. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who will hold your hand and listen to your problems, but more of a pharmacologist who is there to manage your medications. I was happy with his assessment and although I did leave the office (which I believe doubles as his apartment, but he does have both a separate waiting room, home office, and consult room) with four prescriptions, they were mainly to ween me off of my current medications and onto just one pill. I have another appointment in a few weeks and will write another review, especially in regards tothe medication. I can't speak for other cases, but for depression, he seems like a good doctor with a solid working knowledge of the medications in the mental health industry.
Dr. Kremberg actually cured my problem and saved my relationship.
Great experience being that I had a previous diagnosis and medication regimen that was working for me. Dr. K. confirmed previous diagnosis and provided new insight to my condition. He made good suggestions and did not try to add or switch medication/s unless I needed it. Dr. K. is exactly the psychiatrist I was looking for; however, I can understand other reviews that recommend seeing a different doc for psychotherapy and/or "talk therapy". The phone and doorbell rang quite a bit which was somewhat distracting, but for brief medication reviews Dr. K. is great and very knowledgeable!
Very easy to talk to and very professional.
overall wonderful experiance
