What should a new client know about working with you?

I run a small, boutique private psychiatry practice, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I combine medication management and psychotherapy in the treatment of my patients. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and supportive psychotherapy. I uses combine several techniques in the treatment of my patients, tailored to their specific needs. I offer sessions on Tuesday evenings, after typical business hours (5:30-9pm). I typically see new patients on Monday evenings. My session fees are $1000 for initial consultations for new patients. Follow-up visits are $400 per session, regardless of whether they are medication management, psychotherapy, or combined treatment. I do not accept insurance directly. You can check with you insurance whether you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, which will typically cover a portion of the treatment cost after you meet your deductible. Please see my guidance on OON reimbursement in the forms section. I provide receipts for sessions utilizing billing codes that ensure maximum reimbursement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When working with a new patient, we typically begin with a 90-minute initial consultation session. This is a diagnostic evaluation that will help inform my treatment recommendations, which I provide at the end of the session. My goal is to understand who you are and how the problem you are seeking help with has evolved and is currently affecting your life. As part of this, I also conduct a comprehensive symptoms review and review of your current and past psychiatric and medication treatment. Follow-up visits are 30 minutes for medication management and 45 minutes of psychotherapy and combined treatment (psychotherapy + medication management).
