Dr. Maria C. Turizo is a board-certified general pediatrician who strives to ensure high-quality medical care for her patients. She earned her medical degree from Universidad de Antioquia Facultad de Medicina in Colombia. After medical school, she worked as a general practitioner in Medellin and in tropical rural areas of Colombia, where challenging economic and living conditions shaped her understanding of preventive medicine and the importance of a healthy environment. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.
Dr. Turizo has been caring for patients as a general practitioner for 14 years, and for the past five years, she has focused on treating children, adolescents, and young adults as a pediatrician. During this time, she worked in fast-paced private practices in northern New Jersey. It has always been her desire to guide and help families and their children during difficult times—when behavioral and physical problems arise.
With the goal of fostering a more personal, one-on-one relationship with each patient and providing the time children and parents deserve, Dr. Turizo opened her own pediatric practice, INTEGRAL CARE PEDIATRICS. Observing a child endure the discomforts of sickness is one of the hardest experiences for caregivers, and Integral Care Pediatrics is here to make those moments smoother. Dr. Turizo is committed to helping children heal and supporting parents in coping with the associated stress. Being a wife and mother of two has deepened her sympathy and compassion for other parents.

Dr. Turizo was excellent. She saw my newborn a few days after he was born due to lack of bowel movements. She was nice, clear and direct, something my husband and I loved about her. She was also very informative and informed us of the do’s and dont’s about breastfeeding vs. formula. Highly recommend Dr. Turizo !

Dr. Taruzo is great doctor, very helpful and takes time to listen to your concerns. The other staff members are also great. But you should plan to spend there more than hour and a half waiting , even with appointment. Because of that we are thinking of finding another pediatrician near us.

We were not regular patients and they were able to squeeze us in.
Dr. Turizo was very patient as our daughter tends to get a little anxious during appointments.
The Dr. answered all of our questions and was very thorough.
We definitely recommend.
Had to wait a bit -- but as I said... we were new patients and there was some paperwork... so nothing too crazy.

The staff was so accommodating and squeezed us in at the last minute even though we were new patients. Dr. Turizo was warm, friendly, wonderful with my children, and very attentive to small details. I was so appreciative of her unhurried manner and thoroughness. My kids loved her as well! Highly recommend.

This was only my sons 2nd visit with Dr. Turizo & I was extremely impressed. She spent a lot of time listening to his breathing so she could better understand what the issue was. Listening to a 4 year olds lungs & getting them to continually take deep breaths is NOT an easy thing to do! However, she had some tricks up her sleeve that worked really well & was very patient. She gave my son a breathing treatment right then & there in her office, sent us home with a prescription & I started seeing improvement right away. I like her a lot and my son does as well. I'm so happy to have found her!

Very nice child friendly office. Staff is prompt and considerate. I've gone several times and very reasonable wait times. I've never waited more than 15 minutes and its usually less than that. Doctor is very patient, asks a lot of questions and listens. I never feel rushed. Would definitely recommend Dr. Turizo.

She came from riverside pediatrics, I dislike riverside pediatrics because they rush you, they take forever in the waiting room and they always mis diagnose my son but maria turizo is amazing! She's kind, gentle and knows what she's talking about! The wait time is very quick, and she takes her time and explains everything to tou in detail so your rest assured!

Totally worth the wait. Both the receptionist and dr were excellent. The receptionist was very kind and patient even when we had a small problem with our insurance. The dr listened to my questions and answered them thoroughly in lay men's terms and listened to my concerns. I felt 100% comfortable with this pediatrician and will be staying with them.
