Very knowledgable, explained things in detail; straight forward. A pretty long wait from time of appointment until I saw him in the examining room, but he gave me as much time as I needed and answered all my questions I don't know much about his abilities as a surgeon because I haven't gotten there yet, but his education and training are excellent, and he appears very confident in his abilities. I'm going to most probably have him do my hip replacement for that reason. That's when I can give a more educated rating.

I was seen quickly, and Dr. Gesell was informative, able to incorporate changes in my medical history in the treatment of my orthopedic issues, and conservative in treatment.

Mark W. Gesell, MD, FACS, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip, joint replacement, knee, and shoulder. Dr. Gesell joined Professional Orthopaedic Associates in 2011.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in human biology at Stanford University in Stanford, California, Dr. Gesell went on to earn his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago in Maywood, Illinois. Thereafter, he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After completing his residency, Dr. Gesell underwent fellowship training in adult reconstruction and joint reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York.
Dr. Gesell is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

I had wonderful experience, all the way around. From making my appointment, being greeted when I arrived, to the friendly staff and excellent care by Dr. Gesell. He was personable & knowledgeable while making me comfortable and easing my concerns. I would and have recomend him to everyone.
