About Dr. Mark Khorsandi
Dr. Khorsandi is a board-certified hand surgeon.
Dr. Khorsandi received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His residency and surgical training occurred in Philadelphia and New York City and centered around Peninsula Hospital Center in Queens, New York. His training included some of the most prestigious hospitals and institutions including Memorial Sloan Kettering, Westchester Medical Center, Albert Einstein, Beth Israel, and LIJ Consortium. After residency he went on to a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery with the world-famous Charles P. Melone, Jr., M.D., who is known for his specialty in sports-related hand injuries.
Already known as one of Houston’s top hand surgeons and having performed thousands of endoscopic or minimally-invasive nerve decompressions, Dr. Khorsandi began treating hand patients with nerve decompression surgery through minimally-invasive techniques. He has been at the forefront of advancing the field of hand surgery and has attended workshops and training seminars with other surgeons from around the world.

The staff was nice but I waited over an hour with an appointment. It seemed they were overbooked. The nurse was nice , the dr was nice , Ge wants nerve testing done abc wanted me to drive to downtown Houston . I’m not doing that. But overall it’s difficult to tell in a first visit. It just seems they are too busy and have too many patients.

I saw Dr. Khorsandi about 6 months ago for some pain in my hand and again a week ago. I have a few things to point out. First off, the staff is friendly, of course. I haven’t had to wait more than 20 minutes to see Dr. Khorsandi during both visits. Second, I’ve seen X-rays of my hand before but he has been the only person to show me in detail what the X-rays mean in “Layman’s terms” and allow me to fully understand why my hand hurts and what are my options going forward. He never pushed one treatment over the other, just explained each option and the effects (duration of pain relief, cost, etc..). He offered his honest recommendation and I couldn’t have agreed more. He was extremely nice and more importantly, relieved my pain. I’ve been very thankful and pleased with both visits and I plan on seeing him in the future for any other hand ailments. I highly recommend giving his office a visit. ????????

He’s an amazing Doctor, even though it was a video call he took the time to explain me what was happening with my hand and the possible solutions for my problems. He’s great!

My experience with the dr was ok. He definitely did not go out if his way to be friendly. The ladies at the front were just plain rude. I left there thinking I am just another surgery for them, just another number. Unfortunately this is who will be doing my surgery. Only because I have been here before and they have my nerve test results & history of this medical issue. I couldn’t imagine having to call the office and ask them to send test results somewhere else. Wouldn’t want them to go out of their way. Bummer. It has potential but no effort put forth.

The receptionist were cold at first and then she said she was helping out, eventually became a little more friendlier. The nurse in the room was not as friendly either, guess it's all in a days work. The doctor came in with a very friendly approach, examined my hand and explained in great detail. He also asked if I had any questions. That meant alot.

Yes, I would go back. Although the lady that roomed us seemed to be irritated that she had to be at work that day. She treated the patients like they needed to cooperate better. But I liked the Dr. Hopefully he can correct my issue.

Dr Khorsandi is both highly qualified and highly skilled, and he’s a great communicator as well. This is the 3rd time I’ve seen him for various issues, I really trust his expertise and judgment. He’s a very good listener, and he’s not in the least bit condescending to the patient’s concerns or suggestions. IMO, that’s definitely not always the case with any kind of doctor or specialist. How much do I trust him? The 1st two times I saw him, I paid out of pocket. So grateful that I now have insurance that’s accepted!
