“Among the mental health professionals I have gone too, Mary is by far my favorite. When I visit a doctor, what stands out the most to me is how they treat you. Too often I have met with mental health professionals who give the impression that they just want to fix you fast and get you out. I was never able to connect with anyone, let alone open up enough to feel improvement. Visits with Mary has shown me that she cares about your well-being and overall health. She will talk to you and treat you like a person, she wants to see you get better. This made my visit much better than anywhere else I have gone.”

Mary Abbott, Certified Nurse Practitioner, graduated with Honors from Drexel University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in general psychiatry and currently treats adults 18 years or older. Mary has a special interest in treating a variety of disorders including Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Attacks, PTSD, and Schizophrenia.
Ms. Abbott also holds a certificate as a Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She has worked with students as an instructor for Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and clinical areas for nursing students at Hondros College and Fortis College in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to working in Columbus, Mary worked in Connecticut as a consultant in Geriatric Psychiatry in various nursing homes. She was promoted to Regional Manager for the consulting company, where she was responsible for staffing 25 nursing homes for psychiatric needs. Mary simultaneously continued to see her own patients and participated in monthly psychiatric educational meetings at Yale University.
Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Mary lived in Connecticut until 2009 when she moved to Ohio. She is happily married and enjoys spending time with her dog, Gus, friends, golfing, and traveling.
