About Dr. Mary Morrell

As one of a small number of female orthopedists in the U.S., Dr. Morrell has a superior understanding of the orthopedic aspects of women's health issues such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and female athlete conditions. She supports the growing need for early detection and treatment of osteoporosis to maintain strong bones and prevent fractures. For arthritis pain, she employs a full range of joint preservation treatments and, when joint replacement surgery becomes necessary, uses minimally invasive techniques. She is especially adept at closed-fracture management and is expert in the use of metal hardware and implants when surgical intervention is required-these treatments provide limb stability, pain relief, and a quicker return to function. Dr. Morrell earned her Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, after completing her Bachelor's degree at the State University of New York, Albany. She completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. *We are not in network with Medicaid*

I will never come here again. The service was awful and the front representative was rude and extremely unprofessional. I guess she don't like veterans if they are black. When I came to my appointment, there were papers all over the floor. She saw me, looked me square in the eye, did not say a word to me as if I was invisible, looked right back down and continued doing what she was doing. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Please do not come to this office.

Very nice and knowledgeable doctor
Dr. Morrell and all of her staff took their time during my appointment and were professional, sweet, and respectful. One of the best doctor's offices I have ever encountered.
The family has used Dr. Morrell several times and she is always professional, insightful, and always looks for the most simple and easiest course of treatment, rather than embarking on extensive surgery, or physical therapy immediately. Excellent doctor.
Verified patient
I have seen Dr, in the past and returned because I have complete confidence in her. She takes the time to listen and really cares.
Verified patient
Most caring dr ive ever met. Her number 1 priority is her patients . She will take how ever long it takes too make sure you know everything going and what needs too be done including your treatment options. Mary morrell and her staff are only one i go too for any orthopedic needs.

Love Dr. Morrell but the office & X-ray staff was not very friendly and may benefit from some training in cust service. A simple "good morning" would have sufficed. Tech who called me in did not greet nor acknowledge me after calling my name, did not introduce herself. Simply walked towards the exam room and expected me to follow her. Staff's demeanor was colder than the exam room, thus the 3-star rating for recommending the professional as I had considered my end-to-end experience, including that with the staff, in my evaluation.
Verified patient
Dr. Morrell explained my diagnosis and treatment options as well as offered her expert opinion. All in - paperwork, x-rays and meeting with the doctor took about 30 minutes. I appreciated the efficiency of this office.
Verified patient
Dr. was lovely, very kind and helpful. I would see her again but the office was so busy that I was only able to speak to her for a few minutes. I even arrived 45 minutes early to make sure I had my full appointment time (all the paperwork for a new Dr. In mind.) I had questions about multiple areas of pain but was literally not allowed to ask about more than one area. I have no idea if this is a normal practice for an Orthopedic office but I was a little surprised that I could not ask about pain in other than one area. (They seemed to really want it narrowed down to not just knees but one knee.) So I left with great info on how to treat one problem but no info on if my right wrist is sprained or if I have carpal tunnel. I felt pretty rushed and think perhaps they should lengthen their visit times to greater than 15 minute windows.

She was very nice, laid back.i felt comfortable.
Verified patient
She is so kind and clearly explain everything
Verified patient
Dr Morrell is very kind and listens to you. She gave much thought to my symptoms as they are unusual and put together a plan of action for me. She is very down to earth and easy to talk to.
Verified patient
Dr. Morrell gave me good advice on how to treat my bursitis and gave a good explanation of what exactly was causing it. My only complaint is that I was there for over an hour, and I would say 20 minutes of that hour were spent with the x-ray technician, PA, and doctor, so it was a lot of waiting.
I value the opportunity to explain the reason why I needed a visit, The fact that she comes in to see you and has reviewed all my information including x rays. She encourages questions and takes the time to explain everything in detail with follow up pamphlets. And what is very important to me is treatment options that take in to account my body and preferences!
Verified patient
We waited a long time before we saw the doctor, but when we did we were very pleased with her. She was obviously very knowledgable about my problem and took her time to explain everything to me that I needed to know. That's probably why the wait was long- she didn't rush through my appointment and answered any questions my husband and I had. We liked her a lot and will for sure go back to her.

experience was great and so was the Dr.
Verified patient
Dr. Morrell is a great physician. I have been going to her for quite a few years and have had surgeries on both of my hands and wrist done by her. Everything turned out great. Great with her patients. Could not have asked for a better physician. kudos to her.
Verified patient
Dr. Morrell is a great doc. I have worked with her for many years and trust her judgment. She is also kind and compassionate. She has a good sense of humor. Sometimes the wait is long, but it's because she refuses to rush through her patients.
Verified patient
Excellent !! Physician Assistant and Dr. Morell listened to all my concerns. Explained everything in layman's terms. Did not rush me!! They did not try to proceed to a more aggressive therapy with medication and surgery. Good experience, I felt confident in their expertise, knowledge and professionalism. The paperwork for initial visit was excessive. Maybe send it or have patient fill it out on line. This might save the doctor and patient valuable time.
Verified patient
I have seen Dr. Morrell many times in the past and as always, she is great and does a great job of asking questions, diagnosing and addressing the problem. I have recommended her many times and will continue to do so.
Verified patient
Dr. Morrell was very friendly and easy to talk to. She gave me great advice and more than one option on how to proceed with my treatment.
Verified patient
Very professional and spends time with you.
Very professional, very thorough . I was very comfortable with Dr. Morello. She explained the diagnosis and treatment without hesitation and assured me the outcome will be positive. The staff was very friendly and competent. Thank you everyone.
Verified patient
She was very pleasant and professional.
Though I had to wait, I wasn't impatient because some of my questions were already answered by Lee, the medical assistant. Dr. Morrell was very patient with my questions, not in a hurry to explain things to me.
Verified patient
I have never seen a doctor that took so much time with me. She explained everything to me and the actions that could be taken. I would recommend Dr. Morrell to my closest friend. The wait time was minimum.
Verified patient
I went to Dr Morrell for a second opinion and really appreciated that she spent a considerable amount of time to explain my condition and upcoming surgery. I was so impressed that I have cancelled my surgery with the first doctor and have rescheduled it with Dr. Morrell
