About Dr. Matthew Hansen
Dr. Matthew Hansen, DPM, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon providing expert care at Great Lakes Foot and Ankle Institute, with locations in Clinton Township, Chesterfield, East China Township, and Shelby Township, Michigan. Known for his dedication to patient-centered care and clinical excellence, Dr. Hansen is a valued member of the Beyond Podiatry team.
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Hansen earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Madonna University in Livonia. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. He then completed an intensive three-year podiatric surgical residency at St. John Hospital – North Shores in Harrison Township, Michigan.
Dr. Hansen is board-certified in foot surgery and certified in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
With advanced surgical training and extensive experience, Dr. Hansen specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, flatfoot procedures, arthroscopic and endoscopic techniques, diabetic limb salvage, and wound care management.
